A Date with Death Ending Guide!

Spoilers ahead in this thread for the choices that lead to each ending!

ending 1/ Mini bad ending : during the soul connection on day 3, click "Grim... ma—maybe this is a bad idea...", then "I... I think something's wrong... this doesn't feel right...", then "Please... stop..."

ending 2/ Full bad ending : Pick more negative choices throughout the game, don't water your plant on any of the days, then on day 6 choose: "Vaguely, yeah." just before the first call, and "I don't mind. I'll take the sickness. The taint."

ending 3/ You win/kiss ending : flirty all the way through, then on day 6 choose: "You really know how to sweep me off my feet.", "You're cute. Cute and stupid." and "How do I stop? What if I give it all away?!"

ending 4 (DLC)/ Both win/dual reapers : pick DLC choices throughout the game, then on day 6: "Do you like me then, Casper?, "If I let my guard down the reaper will steal me away~", then "Maybe I'm a new class of reaper?"

ending 5/ Wedding end : joke about a wedding throughout the game, then on day 5: "Want to meet the in-laws, Grim?", and on day 6: "I feel touched!", "How about a shotgun wedding?"

Got the full bad ending on my first try! I didn't even see that there was a plant to water. Oops! Even though I got the bad ending, it was still so full of emotion and I even teared up a bit! What fantastic storytelling. Can't wait to play the rest of the endings.

I managed to get ending 2, despite taking a real good care of my plant, so I think that just those text responses are enough. I watered it every day, but on the last day when I woke up it entirely wilted.

Then I got ending 5 never once mentioning the in-laws, so I think that there's less flags than that, or that the game goes to the nearest flag for an ending even if you don't fulfil full requirements.

You sure the plant had something to do with the ending? Seems odd... I missed watering it first day or two, because I was probably blind when searching what I can interact with.

That's the thing, I don't think that the plant registers for the ending, but the dev post suggests that it does, so I think it is just the ending which you have the most ticked check-marks for, in my case my day 6 responses matched that of ending 2, even though I was good to the plant.

It does! But it's point based - you don't need to do all of them to reach the ending, it's just a guaranteed way to reach it! Not touching your plant even once will give a bonus point towards the bad ending.

It's scary knowing that I barely ended up with ending 3, I didn't even know there was a plant to water and just randomly saw it when I accidentally moved my mouse there and was like "Oh there's a plant here, aight let me water it real quick" like I was one day away from ending 2
