Random steam reviews (especially at low numbers) are not indicative of whether you'll like a game or not, at least not for me. One of the negative reviews mentioned it's not HLA ... well duh, if you rate every game comparing it to HLA you'll end up giving a negative review for most good VR games. Another negative review mentioned that the game ran well for them, but was unoptimized. Another review (in french) says the game doesn't save after an hour of gameplay, but there are several auto-saves and you can see when the game auto-saves (it is possible they experienced a bug). The last one I saw was in Japanese, they said you can't change settings during gameplay, but you can.
So like I've said in the past, there's no such thing as a bad review as long as the person is being honest about their opinion and don't put inaccurate information in the review. However, Steam reviewers are notorious for having inaccuracies or just reviews based on limited information or with unrealistic expectations (comparing this game to HLA is unrealistic). Anyways, I would put zero confidence in random Steam reviews.
Another negative review says "+ Holy f##k this game is scary. This really is the scariest VR game I've ever played or seen."
wtf.ff man. How can someone say that and at the same time give it a negative review? lol
Obviously there are some things to improve, but if the game made you feel that kind of terror, the rest doesn't matter much to you anymore.
It more than fulfills the immersion and horror experience that is what you are looking for in a game like this.
If the game has problems it has problems! Stop with this TOXIC POSITIVITY
To the outside user it looks like NONE OF US notice the flaws and it makes them think it'll never get better because we all make it look like we think it's awesome the way it is!! It's not!
This is TOXIC positivity!!
You need to stand up and then adjust height - or playing seated I constantly got the wrong height.
The game is beyond awesome to me - using Rift CV1 and Index. So far I've found no errors - beyond the seated height.
you are living on another planet. your standards don't exist. If the game isn't on Quest, it's the greatest thing since sliced bread to you dude. How are you so blind??
Clout chasing? On PCVR? I only cover PCVR games and if I was clout chasing, the last thing I would cover is only PCVR games. And I do plenty of negative reviews. But I've literally played thousands of VR games so I have some perspective on what is and what is not a good VR game.
There's also a flaw in your logic. You don't need to crouch to pick up any object in this game as you can force grab any object and that's how items on the floor are intended to be picked up. Also, you can easily adjust height from the menu with the height adjustment setting or just by pressing up or down on the directional keypad on your keyboard. But again, crouching down to pick up an object is not a thing in this game.
