How is the game for solo/duo?

Me and my boyfriend were looking at this game, and he's the only one I'd be playing it with. Though he's pretty busy and so we don't get that much game time so I was wondering how this game plays solo as well? I wouldn't of minded at first, but after seeing it's 50 dollars, I'm not sure if I'm willing to pay that just to find out the game isn't made for us.

I played duo and it was good.
I'm not sure about solo though, seems like it'd be hard.

I played through the tutorial and first side mission solo, with a 2 character party that I managed myself. It's not hard -- the phone interface allows you to switch between characters (once you find the icon to do it). But really it's a lot more fun playing with others.
