We shouldnt be pushing devs to change their vision of a game. Either you like it or you dont.
Guess I'll just be skipping this one.
If a version of the game that doesn't require the use of a smartphone were available, why does the thought of this cause you such distress? We are curious to hear about how such an addition would negatively affect your life, and experiences with the game.
I'm with you, the gameplay looks promising and I'm on the same page about the smartphone thing. I'm not entirely convinced it's necessary. It would definitely be a hit if it included online multiplayer without needing a smartphone.
The concept behind promoting offline group play is cool, but I wonder if are we are ready for that on a global scale without incremental integration?
IF a version of the game that didnt require the use of it, i wouldnt have a problem with it.
Thats not the issue I have. The issue i have is people who see a game for what it is, and try and change it.
The game is fundamentally a couch co op. Sure steam has found ways to play couch co op games over the internet. But thats beside the point. The devs have a vision for their game. They made their game with that vision. And it works for what they wanted. Then people come in to try and bring their negativity to it to either try and get the devs to change it or push away others from playing it because they see the games community as a negative.
So simply put. If its not for you, thats fine. Find something for you. But stop trying to get the devs to align with what you want.
So we are cool? Accessibility isn't the issue?
Thing is, the first version could have smartphone only, and later after considerations an alternate could be collectively agreed on by the entire team.
Keep this in mind. A forum post could nudge it very slightly in one direction, but a forum post cannot literally mind control all the devs.
I totally agree. People pushing their ideas onto devs isn't cool. If they show up, lets remind them about that.
Totally. I wouldnt mind they add in an app for pcs to allow them to play without phone. or do what jackbox has with a browser option.

Then you aren't the target audience. Bye.
And no matter the genre/platform/features, you're entitled dirtstains for doing it.
