Since there are some very board-game like mechanics baked into the game, is it safe to say that there could eventually be a transition from videogame to a no kidding board game in the future? I've started seeing many game-clone kickstarters such as Slay the Spire, Dead Cell, and Monster Hunter.
Thank you for your time!
It's a very good point and great questions! For the Jackbox-related question, the app does more than simply connect the player to the host's game! It serves as the main controller and has a lot of information that is personal to the player which an app facilitates excellently!
As for the app, the team at Secret Door and Dreamhaven intend to keep the mobile app for Sunderfolk supported and functional indefinitely.
While we can't predict what the far future brings, if there are any changes, we'll be sure to do the best we can for our community to accommodate.
And for your final question, that is definitely something that we've considered, but we're focused on making sure our game ships before we start broadening our horizons. However, as mentioned earlier, who knows what the future will bring! :D
Thank you for the response!
I understand there is a 'niche' market your team is building the game for, and because of that there is a lot of speculation or downright negativity in these discussion boards. My main concern was always just making sure that after buying the game that down the road there isn't a sudden issue with being able to play and have fun with others through barriers the app can present.
As for the board game comment though, I understand 100% that you'll want to get the game released and stable first. If the board game version ever does decide to become a thing, I'd love to test/try/kickstart it out too!
Have a good weekend!
