How do I reset the game?

I spent gold on stupid worthless upgrades and wanted to start over, but there's no option in the game screen and even after deleting local files all my progress is saved.

you dont RESET RESET. you can start all over by:
making a new profile castle. then making whatever you bought or unlocked to make it. you cant get gold back. but dont get mad about it. if you upgraded units or castle bonuses. thats a GOOD thing. if your units got levels higher than your enemy. more likely your ally army wont need a hero help so you can focus ballista gunnin. but honestly. no resets or refunds. you probably made a bad castle. no offence.

oh ye you can just do campaign all over again or in your fav campaign bits.

Or play the gamemode you are best at. for me it is hero survival
