Corrupted weapon act 1

Hello there, after a specific choice in act 1 I was given a corrupted weapon. Yet, despite the story explicitely saying that it is given to me, I have no way to equip it. It even has a passive to let anyone equip it regardless of knowing to wield this wepon.
If it is locked behind alignment, isn't it weird that doing the choice leading toward this weapon doesn't grant you access to it?

You might need to give more information. What was this corrupted weapon? Is it an actual weapon with weapon stats or just an item? Does it have requirements?

Wanted to keep spoiler less but forgot about the spoiler tag... I've examined the weapon and missed a line explaining why I couldn't use it. However, my point still stand of "if you re giving me a weapon let me use it".
after accepting a deal with the ghost rogue trader theodosia on a platform, she teleports you to a room saying something about "a weapon to help you" where I was given a corrupted inferno pistol. which requires rank 2 in Hereticus. At this point in time there's no way to be rank 2 there, hence I find it slightly...weird

Huh that's fair enough. I was wondering because I hadn't heard of anything, but I've yet to do a hereticus path so that's why. I think Idira has rank 2 in Hereticus though, so its probably for her.

Edit: huh no she only has rank 1. Guess it is something you just have to wait out for, or its meant to be only rank 1. What are its stats out of curiosity?

nope, level 1 just as meself. I wanted to do something I wouldn't normally do, so corruption all the way it is. How are the other paths ?

I downloaded bag of tricks for this and turned on all the tags and stuff in dialogue. I would go back to test out that encounter directly (I might later it isn't too hard to get to), but One of the tags linked to some Beneolentia choices adds to a hidden counter called "Hope." They tend to be after main story points around chaos in general or chaos linked items. The alternates to the hope counter seems to be faith for Imperialist. I don't know what the heretical one is. Those two counters are not always mirrored by another counter, but something like a companion counter stating "move counter increment 5 insertcompanionnamehere_Fury" etc.

Again I my update this with a quick run to that tutorial decision and see what I see.

Edit: OK here it is...

Walk through flames = 12 soulmark Faith. Fallback with crew 12 soulmark Benevolentia. Go with Theodora 12 soulmark shift corruption.

So now I know what soulmark is. It's not hidden at all. It's your Imperialist/Heretical/Benevolentia counter being moved.

I don't believe there were any other counters/tags/etudes of importance. However, the weapon itself may be important. The same way broken sword + hilt or whatever might be and later and the Aeldari dagger in reactor.
