I've posted on the official website around 2 hours ago but only 2 out of 7 questions have been answered since Friday anyway.
I will reiterate.
Due to nerve damage I am unable to use many game's keyboard configurations such as WASD.
Nor have I found a suitable controller.
I am however, able to cope very well using a modified keyboard along with shifting significant workload to Forward on Right Mouse Button (game providing).
Could somebody please try to find a configuration file and try swapping the functions of W and RMB?
If so, I will buy the game and try to make a key mapper UI - open source of course.
I have edited such ini files for several games that use the Unreal Engine 3.
In rare cases binding RightMouseButton to MoveForward conflicts with something hard coded or crashes on load.
In the case of "Mind: Path to Thalamus" I ended up editing all associated files in ..\Engine\Config as well as ..\UDKGame\Config before the game would stop overwriting the final load.
Could somebody please test mapping RMB to Forward to see if it loads and persists without crash.
If so, I will follow on as per my previous post.
Thanks in advance,
Greg
But modifying the string in <steamclient>\steamapps\common\Sherlock Holmes - Crimes and Punishments\SH7Game\Config\DefaultInput.ini did its job.
You can change:
.Bindings=(BindID="MoveForward", Name="W",Command="Axis aBaseY Speed=1.0", bConfigurable=true, Discription="$Settings.MoveForward")
to
.Bindings=(BindID="MoveForward", Name="RightMouseButton",Command="Axis aBaseY Speed=1.0", bConfigurable=true, Discription="$Settings.MoveForward")
I've purchased the game and will see what I can do.
at wasd you must always look down if you leave control once
ok in this game it is not as hard as in other games but that you have to handle it in normal gameplay is somthing i dont want
please offer the opinion to change the keys in the next game or at a patch in this game
me feelings are than much more positive for the gameplay
