Hello everyone.

Here is a list of Well Known Problems and suggestions how to fix them.

1. Game does not start on dual graphics laptops

Q: My game is not launching on laptop showing message “Graphics card which is installed on this machine is not supported” but I have a good discrete graphics card which exceeds minimum requirements.
A: You have AMD Switchable Graphics or Nvidia Optimus powered graphics on your laptop and the default graphics card is AMD or Intel integrated. To switch into discrete graphics please follow the instructions:
1) Nvidia Optimus:
Make sure that you are using most recent graphics drivers, to check this go to the laptop manufacturer’s website or Nvidia website (www.nvidia.com).
Connect the external power to your laptop. Usually the laptop manufacturers prevent discrete graphics from usage on battery power.
Switch into Performance mode with the button or enable it with laptop power management software (if such software is installed).
Open Nvidia Control Panel and create profile for the Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments game allowing game to use high performance discrete graphics card. To have some tips on how to create such profile you can watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzGugS05wo0
2) AMD Hybrid Graphics or AMD Switchable Graphics:
Make sure that you are using most recent graphics drivers, to check this go to the laptop manufacturer’s website or AMD website (www.amd.com)
Connect the external power to your laptop. Usually the laptop manufacturers prevent discrete graphics from usage on battery power.

2. Crash on Black Peter case when 2 gamepads connected

Q: My game crashes when I’m trying to throw a harpoon in Black Peter case while 2 gamepads are connected.
A: This issue is mostly controller related. Please disconnect second controller and try to pass through this scene again.

3. Crash with Radeon HD4xxx series on Windows 8

Q: My game crashes at launch on AMD Radeon HD4xxx series and Microsoft Windows 8 system.
A: This issue is connected to outdated graphics drivers on Windows 8. Last driver released by AMD for this graphics card series and Windows 8 is 13.1 dated 2013/01/21 and it’s dramatically old. AMD has discontinued this graphics card support and there are zero chances that drivers might be ever updated for such configuration. We are sorry but there is no other option than to update your graphics card or downgrade Windows version in this situation.

4. My checkpoint saves are not available on second computer but latest save is works

Q: I played on one computer then start the game on second but none of checkpoints saves are available. I can only choose latest save to load.
A: The problem is related with Steam Cloud file processing. It always return filenames in lower case but the game is required checkpoint saves in upper case. This must be fixed with next patch.

I just got a intel HD graphics card and no idea if ths works.. but my other games work just fine with directx9

I have no profile of any kind on the settings list at the intel config

what can i do`??

Is there absolutely no work around for an intel gtaphics cards?

You could try using -nosettingslimit parameter in launcher for Intel HD card, but these cards are not supported.

no option to turn off vibration for a controller, during the arm wrestling mini game it was going off while i was using mouse and keyboard

Can someone explain how to specify a -nosettingslimit parameter for an INTEL HD card in Windows 8.1? I am having the same issue with my Intel HD4000.

I've got a 2GB Geforce GT 630M, completly compatible with Directx 9.0 as required, I've donwload and installed the latest drivers but it still doesn't work.

right click on the sherlock holmes in library and use options and then -> starting options to set it

Hi there.
Well i was looking on the web and i found some benchmarkers guys claiming that there's almost no graphics difference between low and high (despite texture quality).
But even with so small change, the framerate on high take huge impact.

I don't have the game already so i can't try by myself, but what is did you applied between low and high settings for the game being so demading for so little change on graphics?

I'm on! Right click the game in your library, go to properties, set launch options and type '-nosettingslimit' as stated above!

Hab wohl wie viele andere auch das Grafikkarten Problem.
Bin mir sicher die Mindes anforderungen erfüllt zu haben. Auch spielte (tut es heute immernoch) "Testament" ohne Probleme.

Karten sind:
ADM Radeon HD 6320 Grafics
ADM Radeon HD 7400M Series

Hab auch zwei Screens von der DXDIAG gemacht:

Hast du beide Karten gleichzeitig aktiviert? Oder sind das zwei verschiedene Rechner/Laptops?
Bei einem Laptop kann es schon helfen wenn man den Energiemodus auf "Höchstleistung" stellt.
