Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments

Statistiche:
Is it worth the money?
The reviews I've seen and the ratings on here (90%) suggest this is one of the best SH titles, is that the case? I do want the game, am just waiting until the price drops a bit or trying to find a CD key cheaper elsewhere. I did enjoy Testament and Jack the Ripper past games so might be interested in getting it. Is this one of the better SH games?

Hello,

In my opinion, this is the best SH game so far. From the titles you've mentioned, Testament and Jack the Ripper are just right after Crimes & Punishments :) This is my #1.
I decided to get it (found a cheaper CD key), and am really enjoying it. It's a nice change to the SH series with seperate cases and the whole deduction system leading to multiple conclusions for each case.

I've played the first two cases so far and really impressed by the number of logical possibilities for each case (particularly the 2nd one!). The only thing is that for each the explanations tend to be a bit wishy washy and overlook certain clues. e.g in case 2 if we conclude that the train was sunk in the lake, how do you explain all the evidence at the mines? Alternatively if the Chileans stole the prototype then how did they get off the train and where? I wish there was a bit more in depth explanation for each conclusion, and moral choices having more of an effect (doesn't effect the ending at all in this case.

But I do love how you can see what percentile your choices are in out of all the gamers, Walking Dead style. And it does have the 'best option' which is in green I realised, so you can at least see if you chose the most logical option based on the evidence (I'm 1/2 there, suprised the Drowning option was the most logical in this case).

The Missing Train Case was the one "taken under large magnifying glass" here on Forum in many topics by lots of people - many questions and explanations we gathered here about that one, I can't really remember if we've come to one conclusion :D

Anyway, glad to hear You enjoying the game!
When its on sale then yes! I found this game to be VERY fun as someone who loves case solving games. If you are like me, you want each dollar you pay to equal one hour of gameplay. For example, a 30 dollar game should get me around 30 hours of gameplay that is enjoyable. I paid 15 for Sherlock CAP and got 16 hours with my first playthrough. A very equitable trade! Steam has constant sales, I would suggest adding it to your wishlist and buying it when its $15 or less to get an equal payout for the pay-to-play ratio. Aside from my penny-pinching, I would highly recommend this game to anyone who loves crime solving games, finding clues and making deductions with available evidence.
Definetly worth the money!

If you are a huge Sherlock Holmes fan, you will love this game to pieces! If you love games like L.A Noire you will really enjoy that game!

I am still stuck on the second case myself! The missing train definietly got to me, as a future dective it is a nice training as wel haha!

I really like that case because you get to go to a bunch of locations on the map and there are several possible outcomes. The one that really confused me at first was the Bloody Bath case where you solve a murder at the Roman baths.
Yes it's a good one
i can sell it to you for 20 Tl (turkish lira) if you want add me
