[Replied] Sonar x3 lag
Hello!
My Sonar x3 terribly lag. Sonar and all plugins wad installed on drive E. The computer is powerful enough, and Sonar x3 Pro (trial version) installed on drive C works fine.
Is the problem because the Steam folder is on drive E?

Can I fix the problem without transferring the Steam folder to the C drive?

You're likely experiencing latency, you'll need to adjust your buffers a bit.

Thanks for the reply. These settings do not solve my problem. I have a good sound card with asio interface. Besides, the program installed on the disk C with the same settings of the sound card goes without lags(

Are you seeing a visual lag or audio lag?

If you're seeing a video lag press the [Pause/Break] key. This turns SONAR's CPU conservation mode on/off.

Lag is visual, and pressing the [Pause/Break] key does not solve the problem.

Try updating your graphics drivers as well if you have not already. If the lag persists, I'd suggest contacting our Technical Support[www.cakewalk.com] directly for more in-depth troubleshooting.

Is CPU conservation in the manual? I still have yet to read most of that. What does CPU conservation do? I get little bits of periodic lag, both visual and audio. The CPU meter will just spike completely yellow for a fraction of a second. It doesn't happen all that often, and it isn't consistent, so I just work around it.

CPU conservation changes how rapidly the program updates the graphics in order to save resources, which will make the program appear to scroll "glitchy" during playback. If your lag is in the audio well, it might be more of a hardware/driver configuration issue, most likely the audio card.
