It's more efficient to simply let it propagate waiting at least 24 before pursuing through Cakewalk Support.
I suggest that every Cakewalk user and especially Steam/Cakewalk users create a Cakewalk Account and check that registration has propogated. This will ensure the product is 'recognised' for additional Cakewalk Store purchase.
You won't be able to 'upgrade' to Sonar from MC6T. You'll have to 'buy' into the Sonar family. Despite being a natural progression (same Skylight GUI) MC6T is considered a separate product 'family'.
... that said, you will often get a cheaper 'buy' price due to your status as 'any Cakewalk registered owner'.
'Buy' is possible at any edition of Sonar.
'Upgrade' is possible from any lower Sonar edition to any higher Sonar edition.
Steam will recognise if you own the lower version and will determine if it'll allow you to download at the upgrade price. (I have seen instances of upgrade price being visible (should be targeted on ownership) ... but attempted purchase will advise not possible due to requirement of base Sonar).
If you bought Steam Sonar X3 simply as a hop to the Steam Sonar Studio/Producer upgrade price then you likely don't have to wait for registration to propogate to Cakewalk.
Again - I recommend that all purchases are ultimately reflected in your Cakewalk My Account.
Ok, thought it would show in my store account but this is not the case, just made "Cakewalk My Account" and only Music Creator 6 Touch is showing no sign of Z3TA+2, I give that another day.
I think I'll just register Sonar X3 via their website, and get my keys that way.
They only give you one serial number, do you need two different keys to activate 32 and 64 bit versions or do they both share the same key? This is getting more confusing than I thought, so if I decide to register via their website would I need to register twice using the same serial for 32 and 64 bit or would registering once give me both keys for 32 and 64 bit? This extra layer of DRM is a pain in the backside.
Ya might have to call Cakewalk Support if it doesn't turn up.
That might work but I don't think it's the intended method (?)
When you launch Sonar for the first time I think it prompts for registration.
I alway start Steam with Admin Rights on initial download/startup.
You use the same code for both 32 and 64 bit modes.
It prompts you on first startup in each mode.
So get your internet connection active.
I wouldn't do the manual registration. It should 'activate' when you enter the code at first startup. You don't need the registration for Sonar to work (I think(?)) and it should go through automatically in a day.
The CD Key/Product Code also shows at Launch from Steam > Library > Sonar X3.
This would've then sent to Calkwalk and should appear in your Cakewalk 'Registered Products', within a day, and show a RegCode. Product Code is presented as Serial Number. The RegCode would have been updated your Windows Registry at activation time (?)
I don't think Activation requires Registration.
Activation = the product works
Registraion = Cakewalk know about it's association with you.
Regardless Cakewalk Support will resolve any issues.
Have fun.
Edit: Been a week and Z3TA+2 has not been added to my Cakewalk account. No sign of Sonar X3, Studio and Producer too. And I have tried contacting through feedback, slow week?
