Stockpile wheat (instead of adding to food supply)? And a related butcher question.
Getting back into this after 1.3; my main food production is butchers, but I have two wheat farms to make alcohol. However, during the warm months, any wheat not converted to beer is just going to food, which I don't need; then I don't get any beer during the winter. But since wheat is not showing up on my list of resources, I can't toggle off food stockpiling for it. (Even when I don't have any, it only shows barley as missing, not wheat.) Anyone figured out a way to do this? Am I missing something?

Somewhat related: is there a way of setting what animals you want butchers to slaughter? I know how to turn them off completely, but if I have sheep and pigs both at +1 a turn, and a butcher consumes two a turn, I want to use one of each a turn, but it just takes two from one of them.

Thanks for any help!

Unfortunately I don't think either is possible, wheat is just weird like that, maybe because it's the ''main'' food. Maybe you can change it in the game files.

You can't choose what animals you want to slaughter, but don't worry, if you have stoneblock ranches they won't die out even if they hit 0, it will stay a +1 per turn so there's no need.

You ARE able to store wheat in the mod I posted https://steamcommunity.com/app/241000/discussions/0/1747893074680539492/, just like most other food resources (You are still not able to store fruit, meat or fish) since wheat is an ingredient to many other professions while the other three are not. This small change goes with a lot of other balancing acts aimed at making the game more fun, engaging, and balanced. Hopefully it is what you are looking for ;)
