Gameplay suggestion: depleting resources
So basically there are 3 tiers: (1) foraging, (2) wooden buildings and (3) stone block buildings.
Seems like everyone who I've been watching playing (including myself) rushes to stone production as soon as possible and many don't really resettle or barely move around with their settlement. It is very much like a survival in the beginning of the game, which is pretty cool. In order to make those three tech tiers more distinct and have a greater impact on gameplay, I thought it would be better if resources don't vanish but simply exhaust for harvesing with a technology of a specific tier and this could then happen a lot quicker with foraging for example. Meaning: after I collected a specific type of resource with foraging and it gets exhausted, one could sill harvest it with tier 2 and 3. This could force players to move around a lot more in early game and still eventually make them circle back to the start location.

Just a thought, for September maybe :D
Looking forward to that Europe map and full intended content...

I like this a lot.

+1

Possible exception are the berry bushes.

Berry bushes and deer as well, there could be even more of those depletable tier 1 resources...
Nobody wants to deplete a deposit of any kind that could be worth a fortune in the mid and late game. 😄 So instead players are watching the turn count until depletion and stopping at the last possible turn in order to save the resource for a later building, which as far as I know, will have no penalty.

Cool idea! I agree that this could work a bit better. I wanted there to be trade-offs between the tiers, but yeah, it does feel like going for Stone ASAP always makes the most sense. Let me think about this one, as it is something I'll probably revisit down the road.
