Inheritance Shop?
I noticed in Wayside Village the Goddess runs an "Inheritance Shop" and offers to sell you items if you have the memories of a past hero (i.e., save data from the first game). I'm a bit into the first game (on Steam, I beat the PSP version), so I accepted and was able to buy the Bent Sword. A bit of Googling suggested that something like this will happen again later in the game, what I'm wondering is the amount of progress I have in HMH matters, or if just having any data is sufficient for these things?

I'm wondering the same thing, as I too beat the PSP game and didn't think I had a need to do the same for the Steam version (I only did two levels to relive the experience). If someone who beat the first game can confirm if something different is purchasable at the first Inheritance Shop then I would like to know as well.

Poked through a Japanese wiki, came up with "勇者30セーブデータがあると" which only says "if you have save data from the first game" and only the Bent Sword is listed as buyable. Probably just a one-off easter egg.

EDIT: Did a little more poking. Ostensibly in the Overture chapter, there's a town where you can buy a "Big Crossbow" (ビッグボウガン) also if you have save data from the first game.
Following onwards:
Magician's Staff (ケンジャのつえ): Judgment chapter
Millenia Replica (ミレニアレプリカ): Ragnarok chapter

None of them say anything more than "previous save data required" but it IS from a public wiki so take with a grain of salt.

I only have minimal progress in the steam version of the first game as well, and I was able to get the bent sword and the sage's staff so far; so you probably only need to have a save file...?

I own the first game in steam, and I have it downloaded, but I have never started it up.

I was able to get the Bent Sword as well. My guess is that the game just automatically gives it to everyone, and the searching for save data is just a hold-over from the PSP version.

Can anyone who hasn't played the first game confirmed? I too beat the PSP version and have only played 3 minutes of the PC version. I want to know if the game just searchs for the first games download in your /steamapps/ folder; it would make sense.

I hope it doesn't look for Hero 3 data.

Hero 3 was fun to try and beat on my vita. Still don't know how I managed to do it...

If you guys liked the Hero 3 quest, you are in for a nice surprise. :D

I didn't see the Big Crossbow, but it makes sense that it would be available (the bonus items are the weapons of the characters from the first game). I'll go back and check for it when I play tomorrow; what town is it supposed to be in?

The Magician's Staff is called the Sage's Staff in this version.

I keep getting these items, and I only loaded the game on PC once... still waiting for confirmation on whether or not it actually checks for your HMH download. That would be neat.

The crossbow is in the town with the casino in Hero 30 Revolution. I only played about 6-7 quests in the first one, so if it really is checking data from the first game it's being awfully generous.
