Jobs/Combat Question

This game looks good to me, but I don't like combat (especially combat that causes the player damage & to lose items), I know there are different jobs, will any of them allow you to complete the story in the game without the combat elements when playing solo?

Or will be setting to turn off/make the combat easier in the full game?

I know its listed a light combat but I've watched a few streamers in the caves, the combat didn't seem to be light,

There are 5 professions that never have to deal with the cave spiders. You can get out before 4 minutes pass and avoiding the crystals and there will be no spider in the game. Alternativly you can buy the resources in town once you saw one of that resource.

You said this on my Post, but how? I went in the cave, hit a vein and within 5seconds the spider came for me...where is this 4 minutes you speak of?

From what I've gathered from playing, If you hit the crystals a spider will appear but if you're only going into the mine for ore/don't hit the crystals you have four minutes before the first spider appears

Ah ok that is where I am going wrong then, I hit the shiny! lol. Still not my type of game in the end I would like to fight anything that comes.

Curious though, does the crystal actually give anything then or just bring the annoying spiders to you? lol

Haha yeah that got me the first time I hit one, it's quite fun trying to make a path beforehand to escape on for when they do appear, or you can always stun them with the whip which gives you a little bit of time to run away
When mined they give the item 'mountain crystal' and the description says its a valuable gem used in crafting

Ah haha, thanks! I am glad you like it but I just want to fight when I go in a cave and collect loot. Have fun

I prefer to not die and lose item as well in a cozy game. Game difficulty settings would be good to add in the final game so that players can choose at least to not lose items.

I kind of like it actually! I originally preferred being able to fight things off, but it satisfies a different part of my brain when I make sure I have several paths to get home before I strike a crystal I need to farm.

You can keep an eye out around you while striking it, then as soon as you see the red light or hear the spiders, just run towards the ladder and get out. They usually don't notice you fast enough, and they despawn before you go back in.

The sound effects are scary but they keep me on my toes XD Makes things exciting I think!

Can you kill the spiders? As I watched a YouTube video of someone playing this and they had a whip and the spiders didn’t die, and the player dies almost instantly

It's invincible but I heard from my hubby, who played the demo as well, you can stun it with the whip if you're lucky.

It's a little late for an update in this thread but...

For those of you who hate spiders, we'll be adding a 'cozy' setting so you get to enjoy caving without any spiders. 😊

For those of you who want to play the game with spiders, we're still debating whether they should be killable or not.

oooh I'd vote for make it killable. That's just me, my fight or flight response on giant spiders in any game is kinda 'do or die'. The first time I encountered the spider I just ran straight to it and died. lol
