pirate pig achievement - help/questions

i hosted a game where my daughter got the pirate pig but the achievement didn't unlock for me, i tried picking it up and putting it down again but still it didn't trigger. Do i have to keep on buying pigs til i get one? can you get more than one on the same save? do i have to sell the one i have in order to trigger the rng to reroll?

I haven't done it personally but I have seen information around that the type of pig you get is different each day. For example, in my save I bought 1 pig and it was white and spotted. On another day I went back and bought 3 more, and they were all solid pink.

You have to be the one to place the pig and have it become a pirate pig.
Once a pig is placed it will not change.
Picking up a pirate pig and placing it will not provide the achievement.
You will have to buy new pigs from the store and place them until you get a pirate pig.

ahh ok but do i need to sell the pirate pig i have in order to get a new one or there can be more than 1?
