I know I had it in my cart until I read about the wipe. I have limited time to play games and cannot do multi-hour replays. Was really bummed as I really enjoyed the demo and have the itch. :tcry:
I've put so much time into my farm, that restarting is not worth it.

While that info is factual the only reason a person would do it now is to avoid a wipe but that's not actually a risk here. You just wont get the new content on your old save, so playing the old save on new version will be the same as playing the old version.

Well, now that I think about it they did say it's a major overhaul, so it's possible they might introduce something that some people wont like. So then playing old version would make sense, but the topic is about WANTING the new content but having to restart to get it. Keeping to the old version wont help with the topic of this thread.

You can restore your deleted save from Steam's could save files, if you want to keep playing while you wait.

Aaaah ok, thank you, now I understand. It was not very clear at beggining.

So : if you want the new stuff you need to restart. But for most games when they are updated, it is better to restart.

edit : forget the "thank you"

The statement was simple.

Due to the massive changes to core functions you will need a new save to use them, but the old saves will still work you just will not have access to all of the new content.

So you can continue to play old saves, you just can't use the new content due to how it changes things. Much akin to a free dlc that alters game worlds

👆 That's spot on, MortVent.

It saddens me, but i will wait to play it then, dont want to restart playing in 2-3 weeks or soo ...
Is there already something known, when this will be released. Is it about 1 week, or 2 weeks, or even longer?

The upside of aging. I don't remember things like I used to, so when they say there's going to be an update I figure I can play this game to the end. By the time the update does finally come out, I will have forgotten just about everything and will need to start over anyway. It's important to keep a positive outlook on the slow demise of what few brain cells I have left.

No date given yet. I would personally guess March. It seems like March is a big time for updates to games and new games coming out. The Steam spring sale is in March. New updates get more eyes on the game for new buyers enticed by the sale.

I could be wrong though, it's just a guess.

Okay thanks, then i will keep going on play this game. I am not gonna wait that long, to start the game. And in that time, i have, i assume, discoverd a whole lot at this island, that a new save game isn't that bad at all.

The fallout of such a move is often not out weighting the extra time ....

Personal iam a patient man, i just bought the game because it looks so promising and i have checked out multiple videos ...

I wait but i wonder how many new buyers will say screw this and refund the game ....
Knowing their progress is already set to be destroyed ...

I urge you to rethink and look for ways to keep progress relevant, a bit of lost will be understandable , we might not like it but we understand .

To go nuclear should i say it again be a last resort.

Ps communicate here please, we bought it here not on Reddit nor any other 3th party

I just got the game and am fine with it if that's the case. This is a cozy game, like coral island (also had a nuclear restart), and Fields of Mistria (not a nuke). Also for people who are into these types of games they're used to re-starting, look at stardew valley, I must have made 20 farms there.

We'll release it when it's ready. It's a huge update and will take us some months for sure.

I'm about 40h in and decided to take a break until the new update. I haven't started the mountain or jungle biome yet so I figure its a good time to stop and restart once the new map comes out.

Really enjoying the game but I doubt I will start a new map if I don't stop now considering the amount of resources to build up your farm. Also some of the achievements take alot of effort that is likely only doable for me on a single character.

Until the new update! Great job devs! Really enjoying this game and looking forward to the changes coming.
