Dedicated servers aren't supported so the host will have to be playing if you want to continue playing the game.
This can get quite tricky if the host is using a Steam Deck though - given how convoluted it is to find and transfer files.
Yeah i've done this with Moria before. Check out syncthing/synctrayzor. Keeps the save file synced between clients constantly
I have a home server though, so self hosting a dedicated server is much easier for me. It would be great to have that functionality, especially for a game that seems to cater toward having many players have different professions

I understand that dedicated servers are not currently planned, but would you consider revisiting this option if the game gains significant popularity? Many players have different play styles, and personally, the "join a friend's game" feature hasn't worked well for me and my friends, often resulting in us not playing at all.
I thoroughly enjoyed the demo and sincerely hope that dedicated servers may be introduced in the near future.
