Does something actually happen after the ending?

The keys are gathered, the gem has returned to the heavens, and... what? Other than the townspeople making cryptic comments, no quests have started and I haven't noticed anything else different. Just wanted to know if there actually is something happening that I haven't discovered yet, or if that it. If there IS something going on, please spoiler tag that so I can try to look for it for a while
