Terrible Save System Bug
After switching to a new laptop, I ran into a frustrating bug. When I tried to load my save, I didn’t see my previous game. Instead, I was taken to the character creation screen and then automatically moved to Day 1. My 56-day save is completely gone. I had just finished building my garden and was looking forward to the next map, but now I have to start everything over again.

I checked the cloud saves, but unfortunately, they only contain the corrupted save, not my previous one.

In addition to this bug, I’d like to mention that the design of the save interface itself is quite poor. It’s really easy to accidentally select the wrong save, and I’m sure there are players who have lost their progress by accidentally hitting the delete button. This design doesn’t make sense—who would create a save just to delete it? If a player does need to delete a save, there should be at least a two-step confirmation process to avoid mistakes.

Agreed on the interface. Just in case it helps, here is how I was able to resolve a similar issue:

I was able to run my last save file by A) making a backup of my latest save files at Users>(your name)>AppData>LocalLow>FeelFreeGames>Luma Island>Saves>(Steam random number folder), B) turning off Steam cloud saves, C) restarting my computer, D) starting a new game in the same slot and letting it run to day 2, then E) pasting in my backup saves into the directory after renaming them to replace the existing files - "slot_0.sav2" and "slot_0_header.sav2". After turning off cloud saves the save files location changes to "Users>(your name)>AppData>LocalLow>FeelFreeGames>Luma Island>Saves" instead of "Users>(your name)>AppData>LocalLow>FeelFreeGames>Luma Island>Saves>(Steam random number folder)".
