Where is my pet?

I really like the game, but I think there was a bug. After choosing a profession and talking to Enzio, I didn't get a dog. Yes, a dog that I even petted was hanging around me, but I don't have it in my inventory. Is it supposed to be like that? If not, please fix it.

Because you will only get a free dog if you pick the treasure hunter profession. Since you spoke to Enzo i believe you chose the cook profession.
