It helps you find hidden chests, they will make noise when they find it. You will need Luma energy for your profession so pet them and feed them once a day. Can be hard to pet them with a tool so switch off and just throw them their food that can be crafted. Would recommend to start collecting asap and once you get more lumas, you make a den for them and feed/pet them for more energy. They will be needed a lot especially if you want to do more than 1 profession

I just started playing and I've reached a point where my Pirate stuff needs a Luma but where are they found? anywhere? everywhere? I haven't gotten to the point of being able to go into the Forest yet so if they are there I'm stuck.

So quick summary....Hidden Chests and this Energy balls. Other than that...just useless. Damn and now i thought they collect ressources for you like in Palworld.

The Energy Balls are pretty much a requirement for all progression, to the point that I think they stifle crafting. I think they need to cut back a bit on them in general, or link them to unlocking things instead of using them as materials for almost every crafted good you sell. I feel like my farm is both getting very large and yet completely useless without these timegate balls. It's especially confusing because everybody in town seems to craft just fine without Lumas hanging around, but the player seems uniquely cursed to never be able to make a pie or fruit salad without requiring large amounts of balls to rub on everything.

As for where they are located....generally, when you clear a major progression goal, like a Temple or Shrine that requires a lot of effort to clear, it will also come with an egg.

However, there is also a place you can buy more eggs for extremely high costs.

Yeah well i am still pretty much at the beginning...started a Fisher Profession and later a blacksmith one...But all i do is for Fisher...cook this meal...cook that meal which i propably can sell because i red those meals or everything you craft can only be sold not used to give you like buffs. Also the UI feels totally stiff. Guess i am too spoiled by other games like this.

Regardless of which profession you chose, you can easily clear the first temple and acquire whip upgrades without too much issue, because it uses leather made from the mushrooms you can find everywhere. Regular exploration is enough to unlock the other large treasure chest room on the overworld, and that's a second egg.
