Too hard?
It is probably just me, but does anyone else find this game extremely difficult? I played Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics with no difficulties on various settings, but on this game I can't even get past the tutorial missions. After the first roll, I dumbed down the difficulty. On roll 2 I almost made it to the second mission, but got killed en route. One roll 3 I didn't even make it past the first mission again. Any tips/pointers? I keep running out of pain relievers. What does everyone's squad stats look like who are having success?

Very hard
Why deleted you the regeneration?? The game was not easy to the base. If you remove this option, add kits of care svp (that becomes difficult really)

Not really sure what you're trying to communicate.. but i'll take a swipe, Makes sense that they removed the regen since it makes for a more realistic situation, where you need to use your resources sparingly. Instead of relying simply on health regen to save your ass.

Also, the game isn't all that hard. If you find difficulty with the lack of regen, maybe take a closer look at your tactics.

I found the game really difficult at first because I didn't know I needed to bring Angela Death along for the ride. She was doing most of the work for me until my own characters started beefing up. Now that I've made it inside the Citadel I can heal up for free. So things get easier once you get more established. Just gotta hang in there.

but I thought healing over time was realistic as our bodies do heal over time some slower than others but all our bodies realistically heal over time but it's a game it doesn't NEED to be realistic

I didn't like a regen abilty right off the bat, but I wouldn't mind a perk or piece of gear that will add it when your characters reach a certain much higher level and later in the end game. I'm glad they removed the mechanic.

Nothing is final, they said they removed regen to see how players cope. I wouldn't be surprised if they just make it an option to turn on or off, since it seems to have split people's opinions right down the middle.

I find it too easy, actually. If you made your own characters I suggest using the premades first until you figure out what works.

I got through all the content because I did some exploring before the Radio tower and tried to find a few encounters in the open waste while wandering around before i hit the Radio Tower. Got better weapons and on my main character i made him a combat/nagotiator so he could talk his way out of some fights. I never even took Angela Deth. My party had my custom character, Bear, Pills, and Fade. Bear is useful for her Outdoorsmen Skill so you can run away from low level encounters if you are not healed up enough. Pills is good because she is a Healer and I will give her all the healing supplies and keep her from the front lines when I am fighting and if I have no choice because of an encounter I will move her as far away from conflict as I can or throw caution to the wind and let her be a bad ass with her pistol. Bears proficency with her rifle makes all the diffrence for me as she knocks people down even at low level when you stack her with assualt Rifle skill. Fade is great once you start putting some points in his Machine Gun skill. But one thing I level is brawling on all of my guys so that they can at least hit something if they ever run into something that disarms them. ;)

I just started my first play. I got through the Radio Tower okay, but got destroyed by some raiders on my way to Highpool from there. I mean, it was nasty. I was popping them for about 2 damage while they were slaughtering me for about 10 per hit. Did I just get a REALLY unlucky encounter?

Generally speaking, a bullet wound will not heal over time unless it is treated :)

I like the fact this game is tough. I don't want an easy game, I want a game that makes me fight for life every step of the way. You have to play cunning. :claugh: Making it easy and or "dumbing down" would take away from the wasteland element. The wastes are tough and not for the weak.

Agree. I think the game is easy as it is (and I'm playing on ranger difficulty).

Plus, I really hope that the survivals mechanics are developed into something more elaborate than replentishing water out of which you could never run out anyway.

Also hope that the healing/reviving downed squadmates is streamlined to ocurr automatically if there is a doctor with medical supplies in the team, like in the Jagged Alliance series.

Well don't some of you guys just win life. Congrats! I on the other hand believe an easy difficulty should be... EASY! That doesn't mean there shouldn't be harder settings for all of you elite wastelanders. There should be. I want you to have fun at your own levels too. It just means that maybe they want money from the rest of the gaming spectrum too- It's why difficulty sliders exist. More money makes for stronger franchises, which makes for better sequels... so I hope they don't take such an elitist approach and tone it down a bit. Sorry if somehow a mode exists that you don't want to play somehow ruins your gaming experience.

To those with helpful responses with suggestions like Mortalus, I thank you. I will try what you suggested.
