General
    1. What is Early Access?
This game is still in development and it means you will obtain access to playable but unfinished versions of the game, while the developer is able to use those funds to continue work on the game. You will be given the chance to help debug, and provide feedback and suggestions.

    2. I'm a backer, how do I get access to the game?
Log onto your account at Ranger Center[rangercenter.inxile-entertainment.com] to confirm you actually have a package that included Early Access. The steam key will be found at the bottom of the Donations tab. If your package does not include Early Access you are still able to upgrade to a package that does; otherwise you'll recieve access to the game when it's properly released. If Wasteland 2 was part of a Torment package you should check your account there.

    3. Will Wasteland 2 be available on Mac or Linux?
Yes, there are both Mac and Linux ports.

    4. Will Wasteland 2 be available in other languages or localizations?
Yes, Wasteland 2 final release will have localizations in French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian and Polish. However, the Early Access version is English only.

    5. Where is the Mark Morgan's Wasteland 2 original sound track in digital format, digital concept art book or the two digital novellas?
If you were a Kickstarter backer, extras will be on the Ranger Center web site on the rewards page. Digital extras should be located in your Steam folder within the Wasteland 2 directory.

    6. Where can I post bugs, suggestions or feedback?
    Please, read this thread.

    7. Can I show beta content on YouTube or TwichTV?
    Yes:

Feel free to stream the game, produce YouTube videos, blog about it or write articles about it. You’re free to use any revenue programs available, such as the YouTube Partner program. The only thing we ask is that you explicitly mention that this is a backer/early access beta, and not necessarily representative of the final product. Other than that, please do share - the more the better! Do note that the focus of this beta is on getting feedback from our backers and not about getting press reviews.

    8. When will Wasteland 2 be released?
    September 19, 2014!

    9. Will Wasteland 2 be multiplayer?
No, Wasteland 2 will be a singleplayer game only.

    10. Will the game ship with modding tools?
A possible modding tool kit will be available some time after the final release.

    11. How often will the Beta be updated?

    12. Will there be achievements or cards?
    No.

    13. How much will the game cost when it is released?
It has been announced that the game will be $40 USD.

Technical
For further troubleshooting, not listed below, see this guide.

    1. How can I get my game to launch? The game crashes as soon as it starts.
Make sure you have adminstrative privileges[technet.microsoft.com] on WL2.exe. The executable can be located in your Steam install folder through: Steam\steamapps\common\Wasteland 2\Build\. If the problem persists, try:
    • Enable different compatibility modes.
    • Disable virus protection programs you may have running in the background.
    • Disable video capturing programs like Fraps or Bandicam.
    • Nvidia users can try adding WL2.exe to their game list in 3D settings.
    • AMD users can try adding WL2.exe to their application settings in Catalyst Control Center.
    • Make sure Steam is running with adminstrative privileges.
    • Try disabling Steam Overlay through Steam's settings.
If you are still having problems see this thread on how to submit bugs and issues.

    2. Why am I having performance issues? I have very poor frames per second even on the lowest settings.
The game has not been optimized, yet. Some setups will run it well and some will not. There will be many optimization passes as the Beta progresses.

    3. The screen goes black in-game or I am seeing strange graphical glitches on-screen. How do I fix it?
Ensure you are using the latest drivers for your video card. Nvidia users should add WL2.exe to their 3D settings while AMD users should add a profile for WL2.exe in Catalyst Control Center under Gaming and 3D Application Settings. Manually configure the settings until the game appears to work correctly. Sometimes the Global Application Settings may not work properly for all applications; creating your own custom profile may be necessary for Wasteland 2 until Nvidia and AMD come out with optimized profiles and drivers for Wasteland 2 themselves. Here are some suggested settings to try:
    • Set Texture Filtering Quality to performance.
    • Turn off Morphological Filtering.
    • Ensure that Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering are using application settings. Disable Anti-Aliasing in-game to improve Frame Rate.
    • V-Sync should be disabled unless you notice screen tearing. Triple Buffering should only be enabled if you want to use V-Sync.
    • Ensure that Tesselation is set to be optimized for your card's manufacturer (ie. AMD should be AMD Optimized).
    • In any other case use any setting that says Performance or Optimized as it's usually the most compatible setting.
    • Laptop users with a Nvidia chipset should ensure they have gone to the Nvidia Control Panel, into the Manage 3D Settings and forced the Preferred Graphics card to the High Performance Nvidia processor.

    4. Nvidia SLI support?
You can get SLI working if you create a profile for WL2 in your Nvidia control panel and select "SLI rendering mode - Alternate frame rendering 2".

Gameplay
If you have questions about gameplay controls or mechanics please view the Wasteland 2 Reference Card that can be located in your Steam install folder through: Steam\steamapps\common\Wasteland 2\Wasteland2_ReferenceCard.pdf
or online here

Here is a printer friendly[www.dropbox.com] version of the Referece Card by ViPa from his thread. He would love your feedback.

Thanks Revolucas.

Note this FAQ is not official but it is summing up various answers we have been giving and appears to be accurate at this time.

Props on the FAQ. Answers most everything I was wondering. Congrats on making it to Steam.

Will there be gamepad/controller support or is the plan for this to be strictly keyboard/mouse?
(I ask because this will tell me if I'll be playing this game through my Steam Box on my TV or not)

If this will support gamepad/controller I will buy this right now! but without gamepad support I will keep thinking about it until it is a lower price.

Sure, right click on the finder icon in your dock, clicl "Go To Folder..." paste this "~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Wasteland 2" (without the quotes), and you'll be there.

Will we be able to continue saves from the most recent beta when the game launches? It's fine if not, I just want to know ... played through to Cali once with one set up and want to try some different premutations, but I'll wait if I can't continue...
godfather101 Aug 13, 2014 @ 6:05am
No you can't continue.
You need to start a new.

8. When will Wasteland 2 be released?
August 2014!

Okay Buckaroo Banzis. We're 1/2 way threw August. How about an update on the release date.

I have been following this for a year now,.. so excited for the final game release,.. any updates on when the full game will be released? I am seriously jonesing for that sweet fallout-esque narcotic to hit the blood stream and with little to no solid news on fallout 4, this is what i am looking forward to! :)

I regret. We greatly appreciate Brazilian rpg games. It's a shame our Portuguese always stay out. Buy for sure if not this problem. RPG games usually always have enough dialogue.

I'll like to know if there's some M1911-A1 on the game. A couple of possible modifications for it will be an Extended Barrel (5.3" instead 4.25") and a magazine extension, 8 rounds instead 7.
Is a weapon that i always love to see on every game, and i think that will fit great on the Wasteland 2, but i didn't seen it on any gameplay video of the Early Beta or the Alphas and i'd hoped it to be on the game.
JayXan Sep 7, 2014 @ 11:30pm
Definitely unofficial as its past august and not released yet.
Revolucas Sep 8, 2014 @ 8:18pm
Well, it changed several times, I apologize. I haven't been around but I will make a glorious return when the game launches. Most of this will be irrelevant soon, anyway, and might not even be necessary to keep it.
