How do I heal?

I have no clue how to get HP besides using hp items... should I have taken first aid or surgeon or something? any tips I can get would be awesome! :D

If you have a medic from the start then get rose you can have one with high surgen and one with high first aid. First aid gives you better healing and surgen means you can heal wounded people.

You can also use pain pills without any skill. It heals for around 9-10 pts

You find them more often then venders sell them i have only come across 2 venders both sell very little.

pain killers usually drop from raiders.

YOU heal slowly over time in game, or in overland map. You can heal to full that way unless you have a debilitating condition (bleeding wound, poison, concussion, etc) in which case you may die without treatment from a surgeon or medic who may or may not need a consumable (blood packs heal from medic, antivenom medic, bandage stops bleeding medic, splints fix broken limbs surgeon, concussion fixed by surgeon skill 3).

Some consumables are not in game (splints for broken limbs lol).

There's a couple doctors in early game, one in Highpool and one in Ag Center who can heal all your conditions for free.

Chars with the medic skill can use blood bags on themselves or other chars in and out of combat.

Chars with the surgeon skill can stabilize dying characters.

I *THINK* any char can use bandage to stop bleeding condition. I need to try it..

You can find blood bags and pain pills in safes, containers and dead enemies.

One thing I recommend is having two characters with the surgeon skill. This is my first playthrough so I just used a random assortment of the pre-gen characters except I specifically took the Medic, Pills. Poor Pills got killed in combat and I had no one or items to stabilize her. *sad face*, but .. life in the wasteland must go on. I seem to be picking up a bunch of other characters along the way and have since blown some points in other chars to at least give some of them level 1 medic and surgeon.
