Hollywood Quests

Been trying to find my way around Hollywood and things are getting a little confusing. I have three quests in the area I need clarification with if someone that has already done them, can help me.

How can I handle Hotel California, short of shooting up the place, there seems to be no way to get entrance into anything. I've already learned that SALT is a problem that needs to be fixed(no one aske me to deal with it yet, but I figured I'd give it a shot anyway) but if I go into the hotel, I get told to get lost. What am I missing here?

I did the first parts of the slaver quest. Talked with Veronica, found evidence, talked with Flo, went to Shifty, followed Shifty to his casting couch and then down to the sewers. I freed the slaves I found there, and brought the evidence back to Flo, Veronica and finally Heidi. Heidi says she'll look into it, and nothing. Veronica comments on this but it seems like this quest is now done. As for Flo, she wants me to confront Swag. Problem is that I don't want to just boot down the door to Swag's office. Is there a less direct way of dealing with this?

I also came across some blackmail photos of Manny. Apparently Gruaman is blackmailing him. I would like to know what I can do here. I tried it out and apparently I can hand the photos to Manny, he gives me a small reward and that is it. Gruaman stands right there in the Casino doing nothing. What the hell is with Gruaman still standing there. What am I supposed to do to progress this.

Also, I heard that you can start an election for leadership in Hollywood. How does that start?

For the hotel, I just finished blasting my way through the place. With some luck, and the proper skillset, you can find your way into the sewers from there and deal with the salt problem. I dealt with it before really knowing what was going on, and destroyed everything before any NPC mentioned it (which leaves me wondering if there's a quest for doing so, in which I could be rewarded).

Past that, I don't know - just got there myself.

The election is started: Do the slave thing. Veronica will ask you to find info on the broken man. He is a sect leader in the torture room in the bastion. I think from a previous play through that you need to talk to him, then tell veronica, then make him the overall leader and then reunite the two. I think if you do that then somewhere in there you get the option to elect her leader. Then you need 3 votes. The 3 votes are another set of quests. I think one of which requires the Manny solution with Gruaman but I am not positive. I don't know the interaction needed to trigger the broken man quest besides sorting out the slave problem. This I did breaking into (but not kicking in the door) Swag's office. He went nuts after some dialogue and you get his manifest or whatever here. Talk to Flo. I don't know a peaceful option. I was 10/10/10 in speach skills and no other choices popped up. I think you need Flo's vote too so you will pretty much have to sort this out regardless.
I read that initiating the salt quest line was bugged or otherwise impossible since noone knows how you are supposed to do it.

Another of the vote quests could be in the weapon shop with the little thief. On my second run through here I failed to initiate the election questline as I solved the Bastion leadership drama first and the broken man no longer gave a hoot about Veronica. This quest didn't happen. So unless I failed to initiate this quest in some other way it could be election related.

The key is Veronica. You need to get her to trust you and you have to be careful how you handle things after you do, i.e. dot assume that just becasue the journal tells you to do x and y you should do both x and y, the journal is not explicit some things are mutually exclusive.

The low spoiler hint is that gaining Veronica's trust is the key to integrating the Gods Militia part of the Hollywood/Griffith saga and leads to the election which is the Hollywood half of what looks like the canonical area resolution. Don't worry about the manny photos for now, that will become clear later. Manny's henchman is just decoration. What has Heidi asked you do about Veronica and why? What do your NPC party members have to say to you about Veronica and what does everybody in town say about Heidi?

I did not find a way to get to see Shwag without breaking in. I have never found a way into Hotel California through peaceful means either nor any reason to go there peacefully, but that may be becasue of the decisions I made (roughly speaking goody-goody).

Only 8 years late (But hey, Google spit out this thread when I was looking for an answer to the Grauman-blackmail quest line. No one answered the question, so here goes;

You can go to Veronica and simply type "Manny". She will then tell you about the possible blackmail situation.

After you finished the slave quest Heidi should of told you to find out if Veronica is in love, how you finish that quest will determine how the rest of the quest line plays out.

For Schwag your only option is to kill him, he cannot be convinced to surrender or to change his vote. Heidi will not do anything about the slavers. You can either brute force the door or hack the nearby computer to open it. You'l have a short conversation before he attacks. If he is alive during the vote he will vote for Heidi.

For the Blackmail you wold of gotten a quest when the voting starts to try getting his vote. He would of asked for the blackmail material to secure his vote. I assume since you already gave him the blackmail once the voting starts just return to him and he'll vote for Veronica.

As for the Salt problem that's actually a quest for later after the vote was completed and you've done the correct quests in the Gods Militia.
You can enter the Sewers and clear it out early but you will be sent back down there again to finish the quest.
