Wasteland 2
Totally anti-fun way the game got ruined for me
Entering the Ranger Citidel for the first time after doing a lot of the main/side quests (about 8 hours gameplay so far) I come across Bowling's weapons. Seeing the low price, I immedietely sold off all my equipped guns to buy all of Bowling's weapons. At the end I had no scrap left since I had spent much on ammo previously and had just enough after selling to buy Bowling's weapons.

Shortly after starting a gunbattle outside the citidel did I realize the weapons were totally useless with 100% jam rates. With no money left to buy back my old guns, my entire party simply has no working weapons, no way to fight, no way to get more scrap.

At this point the only option is to restart everything.

I understand that Bowling's weapons are a funny joke but it is unfair to trick newer players by offering them broken but cheap weapons. What purpose does Bowling serve only to kick down newer players? I don't even want to restart the game any more since I feel like my game got ruined because some dev thought it would be funny.

Maybe have a warning about Bowling for newer players so these things don't happen? I was loving the game up to this point.

Maybe they should rename the guy "Mr. Haney"
+1 lol! Oh you need to buy this mod for +2000 to unjam the jam.
There was a warning. One of the first things you can say to him was about jamming every shot. And you get that before you even look at his inventory. After that bit of conversation, the first thing I did when checking his inventory was look at the Jam rates.

Anyway you shouldn't be only relying on autosave.

1) Learn to save
2) Learn to read

Both instructions are applicable and valuable in the real world.
hahahhahahaha, another immidiate gratification noob owned.
If you look at the weapons (mouse over) in his (!) inventory, you'll see the jam rate ...
The best thing about the older style of gameplay is the complete lack of handholding. There's no pressing Q to win, just brutal and deserved punishment if you don't pay attention. Getting yourself out horrific spots is where the fun starts.
Wonder if that guy is named after Robert Bowling from Infinity Ward? He screwed me over with his brand of weapons, so I grassed him up and he got put in prison!

Another one bit the bait. Dude was clearly shady.
I bet you didnt even read what he said properly.

Btw it's not a joke. It's start of a quest if you READ ENOUGH to refuse him.

Btw, why it wont give you back everything. You can always take the guns apart and sells em to Melson

hahahahahah I was laughing too, he did not see my post about this 2 days ago, but u were there? were not u? ;) hahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa am laughing so much now hahahahahah oh my god really hhHHhHh i was gonna do the same thing, but felt like there is a trick to it, becz the weapons were abnormally very powerfull and I did not fall for it ;)
u know buy some glasses dude and read next time, and I will be still laughing at u hahahahahaha:)
:)) This is the best topic in the forum. Made my day:)) Congrats on developers of real doing things matter! There are tons of situations in the game were you need to pay close attention on every dialog. We need more games like this!

I also put him in prison but I didn't want to. I just didn't read everything and this game really punishes you if you don't pay attention.

how is saving and loading help in real life? :D
Is it developers' fault that you don't save regularly?
Is it their fault that you don't read something? Like the jam chance on weapon tooltips?
Is it their fault if you press that red button?
Is it their fault if you choose organic, then expect something different?
etc...
Well now you know why we love old school games. No hand holding like in modern crappy games that also have no consequences and so on. Welcome to real games Douglas Quaid

Hope someone warns him about the button on the rocket launcher in the museum. It was clear to see that his weapons were dodgy with the 95% jam rate. These types of games are gems and it's so nice not to be hand held like most boring games of today.

I almost got conned as well. And contrary to what people have said in this thread, when you ask about jam rates in the conversation he acts completely trustworthy. There is a save game editior you can use to get your scraps back, with a buggy unfinished game like this it is pretty much mandatory.
