Sierra Madre
So got the quest with Red to find the Sierra Madre airlines, and after some searching online found it was located in Silo 7. I came across a group of robots in Damonta though, and no matter how many times I reloaded, Red always rushed in and died, so I gave up on trying to save him. Anyway, the quest is still in my log, and I can see a doorway on my map for silo 7, but I can't click on it, and it doesn't indicate anything at all using perception. Is it possible to finish the quest with Red dead?

Yes it is possible to finish the quest without Red. The more likely issue seems to be that your perception might be too low.

It is better that Red is being dead cuz you can have all the loot possibly. but you need around 8 Perception to see the entrance of Sierra Madre.

What was the treasure anyway? I found a locker with some stuff in it, and a toaster. Does that count as the treasure?

The reason I ask is that even though I found the plane and got some stuff from inside, the mission doesn't show as complete.

No

If you did not agree to let Red tag along with you to find it,he would have gotten it already before you.

However,if you let him tag along, you will have to use the screwdriver(labelled as a quest iterm) from the locker and use it on one of the floor grates in the plane to find the "treasure".Use Z to highlight them but they can be abit hard to spot since the outline is not green in color.

Ooooooh! Thanks! I saw them highlight in that non-green way and thought it was just a graphical artifact on those tiles when the other objects highlighted. Back I go :)

For this quest I just simply cleared the map and then rescued Red. Afterwhich I headed straight for silo 7 and finished quest.

You gotta have at least 7 perception so you can spot the passage to that door. Doesnt matter if the vendor is with you... mine died on one of the battles (rushed ahead too). So, as i have, you can get the treasure all to yourself (its some gold nuggets, wich is worth around 500 credits)

On a related note, it would have been nice if NPCs tagging along didn't immediately die when health hit zero but there was still a chance to stabilize them via Surgeon...

That, and the fact that even mid game they only have 25-50 hp makes it really frusterating.

You can lock Red up in a room. I locked both the little robot and red up in the cell where you find Lex. And you should be able to finish the thing without having his help. Or, you can betray him at the last second.

Also, if you have that little robot with you, protect it as much as you can. The debuff it applies to enemies is very, VERY good (somewhere between 15% to hit bonus, or even more). Hint: you can repair it with mechanical repair, and overclock it with computer science. Overclocking will increase its evade by 15%, and may have some other effects.

As of 5-29-23 Perception 6 is NOT enough, I'm standing right in front of it, and nada...
