Weapon Reloading
It is absolutely absurd that you can't just press reload ONCE and have each and every weapon in primary and secondary positions unjammed and reloaded, when not in an encounter. This is one of the absolute worst time sinks, and is soooo first generation and should be forgotten and never remembered lest it damn us all for all of eternity!

Try the hot keys with the whole squad selected. Hit R X R X. Reloads and puts you back on your primary.
Gregorovitch Sep 30, 2014 @ 12:21am
Typing R X R X over just X is a small price to pay for having individual primary and secodary screen reports on weapons being succesfully loaded or out of ammo. In many cases your main concern is that primary weapons are fully loaded and you may be running deliberately short on secondary ammo. If both primary and secondary were reloaded at the same time it would be difficult to determine if an out of ammo report was for the primary or secondary weapon without checking individual rangers weapons manually whioch would be a lot more time consuming than simply typiong R X R X.

Just accept the fact that it is bad game design. If you use reload/unjam on one you should use it on every NPC. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make it usable, why add up up down down left right left right B A start when you just want to load your weapons, Come on now, I'm not asking for an unlimited lives cheat, just want my team ready to go!

While we're at it, you might as well auto-reload all equipped weapons after every combat.. (if ammo available of course)

It's not like you'll ever want to go into combat with an empty/partially empty weapon anyway.

What a concept, hitting reload reloading your parties equiped weapons... like it already does when you hit reload in squad mode.

Now if they'd just make a toilet whipe my butt after dropping a deuce.

Yup.

Unlike the original... where reloading meant you threw away all the remaining ammunition in the weapon to replace it with a fresh magazine, heh.

yes that is exactly what i am talking about. sorry it comes across a bit arcane. If I am out of combat, I just think it simple, clean, and effecient to just have everyones weapons reloaded and ungammed at the same time. Actually, makes a lot of seense in a practically, since I am certain any squad would do that instintually/ through training.

Select the whole party, press R, press X, press R. Done.

OK, fine there is a complex soluttion to the problem, that I did not see nor do I care to see. Why build in this level of complexity, when your main game SUCKS ASS! Funny how you all come up with this extremely complex way of loading/unjamming weapons, Yet you can't get encounters right, stories in LA to even make sense, friendly fire MAJOR issues like my NPC not ever wanting to work with me ever again because he got a small bite in combat. Your defending such small issues, but hide from the real problems in the game. Don't worry, I can hit RX, but can you?

You're spending an awful lot of time denegrating a game you don't like. Just move along and leave the passioante to their highly anticipated slice of 'complicated' (complicated compared to todays mainstream rubbish) gaming history.

Please.

Your defending some little idiosyncrasy when there is a blazing mess of a bunch of computer code wasted on a half ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. Maybe if you love the game so much, get off the forum and back into playing. Truth is, this game is a mess, after AZ! If you have even stepped one foot in Cali you would know that it is almost a waste of time. But I paid good money for this game, so I CARE! If you don't like that, too bad.

AND BTW I have tried that so many times it is not funny. The game SOMETIMES swithched weapons, but not every time. I really see you are fan boys or just InXile employees in disguise! But I have played the game a number of hours, check my profile PLEASE! Gawd, I know what I am talking about. LOVE the concept, but the actual product... meh

A number of hours.

Okcan.
Wait, what? Hitting reload while having your whole squad selected is a "complex solution"? You can even do it while moving.
jtaylor808 Sep 30, 2014 @ 3:10am
Its getting your whole squad to switch to the secondary weapon that is bugged. They usually do not. So when out of combat to assure that your team is fully reloaded and unjammed, you have to check each and every team member. OK, maybe it is just my build, but it is a total waste of time and takes me so far out of the game, I can hardly call this an immersive experience.
