Radio chatter in Russian
I was Exploring the area NW of Citadel and I heard this strange dialogue with my radio. Subtitles said something like "you hear a conversation in a slavic language", so, I guess, my characters were not able to understand what is going on.

It was a dialogue between a man with a call sign "Cheburashka" and a woman "Shapoklyak" (both are the child book characters, btw). They discussed getting the radiation protection. They mentioned that they are unable to get the rad-suits from Red, and they should contact his brother Rick instead. Also, they said that they should get to Damonta ASAP before the rangers find out.

1. Has anyone tried to listen to this dialogue with a Russian ranger in group? Are your rangers able to understand this dialogue and tell Vargas about it in this case?

2. Is there anything in Damonta related to this dialogue?

I considered this as an Easter Egg for russian-language players, as it was rather strange and funny. Got no reaction from Rangers, also.

Though, mayhap, this may be used as key-words to type in dialogues with Vargas or Red or someone in Damonta (haven't reached it yet)
I love how everyone but OP spelled Russian wrong, even rangers is capitalised :rfacepalm: but I'm not starting a thing here, just strange. I see this in many other game forums too.

There was a translation on the official forums, IIRC something about a couple who were going to take the rad suits you pick up at the RV so they can head to damonta and then they start wondering if it's smart to be talking on an open broadcast. It doesn't add anything gameplay wise, but is super neato as far as worldbuilding goes.

A lot of the background chatter is in responce to many players commenting on how empty the wasteland felt during Beta. Lots of people were asking where were the other Ranger teams, if there were communites that the Rangers protected why didn't we ever hear or see those places and such. SO far I've heard the Russian messages, and I've heard what I think was Spanish. And of course plenty of beeps, and Morse Code messages as well. Some of those broadcasts are to let you know that your close to a hidden location. Such as the beeps you hear when you get close to the Abandoned Railyard aka Aggg Robots.

The pair was chating how Red refused to sell em rad suits they need to get to Damonta. And they want to get there before Rangers get a sniff of their movements. The names are a throwback to an old russian animated cartoon that is also popular in Japan strangely enough.

Man. I gotta say the Russian and the weird beeps and stuff really give a scary atmosphere to the wasteland. The first time I heard these broadcasts I got so scared for some reason. Especially the menacing beeps. Made me feel like I was about to get jumped by aliens or something.

Russian is my native language, so I was super-excited when I heard this broadcast. It's really nice to see that developers included Slavic characters into Wasteland lore/world (whether they are descendents of Soviet immigrants, spies, former paratroopers or w/e else, as it can be seen in some NPCs names); it's just such a cool touch. :B1:

In case it's an Easter Eff for Russian players, it turned out even double Egg for me, because I'm playing in English version and almost fell down from my chair when heard this dialog in English version xD

This dialogue is actually more than a mere easter egg. Normally, when you're trying to get to Damonta, Red will tell you to talk to Rick Baychowski to get radiation suits, you'll have to get him out of jail, go to his RV, and all that. However, if you type in the keyword "Brother" when talking to Red, your ranger will say "I know that Rick is your brother and you both deal in radiation suits cause we intercepted your radio transmission" or something like that. Then Red will just be like "♥♥♥♥ don't tell anyone my brother's a ranger or the RSM will kill me! Here just take the rad suits!"
