GoG's version will be DRM free. I would buy it there.

yeah, but you know how GOG is when it comes down to updates, so on one hand we have DRM-free game, and constant, frequent updates on the other.

That's true.

I am also struggling. Fair prices, DRM free are a very big plus for GoG. On the other hand Steam has nice auto-upadte, workshop and achievements.

I guess if in doubt someone should support gog, as they seem to have the more fair mindset. In Steam e.g. you actually don't buy/own the game, and they don't care about unfair currency conversions.
Regarding the updates, You gett all the updates on gog too, just maybe a bit slower but not by a big margin. And no auto updates mean you can revert back to an earlier version, if a patch screws your game up.

Achievement are not and advantage, I don´t need to be padded on the back because i progressed in the game. Never will understood the appeal.

Anyway as kickstarter backer, I have both versions anyway as got 2 copies with my $55,00 pledge. :p

Humble Bundle. Best of both.
GOG. I continue to own the title even if service stops.

Digital Rights Management. Basically, a program or script that causes the player to identify themselves in some manner in order to ensure that the game or program was purchased legally. It is how developers and publishers protect their work from those that would obtain the work illegally, and thusly rob them of the income they deserved.

You're using DRM right now. That is, Steam is DRM itself. If Steam goes under your games go away. In effect, we're leasing games.
