Installing Microsoft VC Redlist Package FOREVER
Can anyone tell me why after installing the game it does this forever on the first time setup? Shouldnt this be at most a minute or two deal?

Cant run the game, if this cant be fixed I want my money back.

Try to install them manually

go in

\steam\steamapps\common\Wasteland 2\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2013

and right click > Run as administrator each executables .exe and choose to install/repair when prompted

How long should this take. it's been at initializing for 5 minutes now.
Its an install of 10-15sec very quick

After 10 minutes, it says it's processing.

Not sure what that means, or why it's taking this long. This is the first of the 2 programs that are in the directory to be ran. I sure as hell hope this is a 1 time thing.
I know these redistributables, they are like instant install unlike older versions a bit more longuer to install

You better have to close what Steam is doing and do it manually

Ok, after 15 minutes the first one gave me a setup successful. Never did see a option of repair or whatever. That was the Vcredist_x64.exe file.

I am now running the Vcredist_x86.exe file. It has given me the option to repair or uninstall. So I am repairing it. Lets see what happens.

Second file went quickly. Now lets see if the game starts up or not.

Nope, running the VC redlist package (step 1 of 1)

Aaand success. At least for the first run through. I'm afraid to quit the game and run it again. Let me get some playtime in first.
Should be ok Steam for the first discovery always performs a little tasks you won't see again after that

It's a fairly common Steam bug (at least for me). Only way I've ever gotten rid of it was to delete and reinstall the affected game.

I had the same problem I just restarted the computer. Then it worked. It is probably a memory overrun. Also those startups are usually fast but for this game they took 10 minutes or so.
The vcredist_64.exe will not install. It will not even Setup. Any advice?
