2. It probably takes longer to get through. The are two maps in this one and a couple of the eareas you explore are pretty damn big.
3. Nah, you always stay a grunt that has to follow orders from Vargas and there's no say on how the base develops.
If nothing else I will say that I for the most part prefer the story in 2. It somehow feels more epic.
You do not get your own base. You are based out of an area but it doesn't evolve or build up or anything as you play/quests. It's just a place you store your stuff/buy/sell and do a few things.
Its better than wasteland 3 except in grapics and menus. They made wasteland 3 a little easier over the board when it comes to weapons, weapon mods and such, takes a little more managing in wasteland 2 when it comes to skills/weapon mods and stuff. I think of wasteland 3 as the arcade version of wasteland 2, less micromanaging, more of the hack and slash type of wasteland compared to the rpg tactical side of wasteland 2.
I think most people like wasteland 2 over 3 its just more fleshed out, feels like 3 was pushed out before they had a chance to add a bunch of things, deadlines came up they threw out what they had.
