Red Pods!

Can anyone please tell me how you're suppose to collect those red pods at the first Ag infected site side quest without them exploding? I've tried walking up to them, running, and even shooting them and nothing. They just explode in my face and infect me.

Is there some trick to collecting them w/o them exploding? Help me out.

On a related note, I'm having a freaking blast with this beta. Can't wait for the finished product!

I just shot them and collected 10 fragments

Yeah just shoot them - apparently you need silent movement which isn't in the game right now.

you can go to the left from central room the first red pod in the center of the road can be collected using outdorsman skill, need to walk to it, not run.

There is a skill that will let you harvest them, same as when you need to harvest a certain plant, as they are very delicate. They even give you a hint by saying something about how nice it would be to have a specific skill or knowledge to work with these delicate things.

The game makes you really think about things, experiment, get some well rounded skills learned, then try some out in various situations as you never know when something just might be really useful to these special situations.
