The Provost?

I'm in the Rail Nomad Camp and I've got some weird NPC following me named "The Provost". He keeps speaking Latin. Is this some kind of pop culture reference or something?

sounds like a mystery to me ;-) They really are making us think about stuff, sometimes we have to think outside of the box to figure stuff out as well. I have yet to do this, but looking forward to it.

I've got the Provost following me around to. Not sure what to do with him, or what he's all about. He's actually pretty decent offensively.

i attracted myself a provost when i wandered into the woods behind the the train warehouse and shot some animals. he ran out of the bushes and started assisting.

since then he's followed me everywhere. assisted in murdering the users. helped kill a drunk upset at our grave robbing. based on what is said in latin i might take him to meet the boss of nomad and see what happens

Anybody who doesn`t want to be spoiled - turn off your computer - immediately!

No, don`t kill him - in Fallout 3 & NV you can get a special "follower" perk, which can save your life in critical situations;) I don`t really know, what the provost will do, but I can tell you, that at the end of the story the murder is out;) keep him - ignore him - and at the end of the story you`ll get goosebumps!

Rail Nomad camp area is ridiculously large and without mini-map I have no idea where I am.
I found provost guy after I went and accidently killed off the entire topokhan clan whom attacked me because they thought I was going to steal their prized possession. Of course, all that fighting and me wanting to cash in on character levelups, radio bugged into a loop. I hadn't saved game yet after entering map so I quit. Not going to do it again without mini-map.

No, you`re right, minimap is still an issue Devs are working on.
Especially in Rail Nomad, first time it`s a maze! Kopf hoch!
Give it another try and stand your man at kekkabahs dumpyard!

Well...I will undoubtedly try again now that I know what's what in that area.

Sometimes frustration just gets you, like that Provost "Infidelis" guy. At first I thought he was cursing at me in latin... but then I realized he was just scared of some toadies, wolves...and whatever was out there. He looked so out of place, I was almost expecting to find his TARDIS around the next corner.

I'm in South California and the Provost is still following me.
He's not saying anything either. He just yells INFIDELS when I click him
