Code of the safe at Infected Village

Theres a place between Highpool and AgCenter where you find an Infected Village.
In the beggining of the map you find some people who locked themselves to avoid the insects and the podpersons and the local sheriff give to you a password "M-A-Y-B-E-R-R-I-E-S", what could open a safe in a house at far end of the map. I found the safe, and the keypad attached to it, but the keypad is numerical only, so I guess "mayberries" should be a clue to some child tale, or a joke, or some american jingo (the game make some musical reference), to get the number. The problem is: I am not american and can't make the link. Someone have discovered the code. If it really exists??

I think I opened it with either lockpick or the computer skill. Maybe 'mayberries' is an alphanumeric code, check the image here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_keypad

I managed to open it with the safe cracking skill. 7 assualt rifle bullets and a pain reliever were in it. (i hoped some armor or rifle but it didn't)

Yeah, I used safecracking to open it, too. It can be oppened by force, using better weapons like AK-94 and G-43 sniper rifles. But the question continues: what is the password. Its only numerical and 1-8 digits. The alphanumerical phone number doesn't works (11 digits), I tried in the very beggining.

Interestingly enough, she also says the house is on the WEST side of town, but the compass puts the house on the NORTH side.

lucky one! i got 4 sniper rounds, a medkit and some scraps... :D

Don't yet own this game, but sounds like a reference to the Andy Griffith show. Andy Griffith was the sherriff of Mayberry. A lot of pop culture in these games.

That's probably what it is, since the instant you enter town you have to rescue a sheriff and some townsfolk.

I simply pulled up my phone number grid with the letters on them on my iphone, and punched in the code based on the letters, it worked ;-) They make you think a bit in this game, which I really enjoy! I hope they keep it this way in all honesty.

This is old topic, but I want to write for new players that bought the game recently. I have a guy with 10 luck in my party and he opened the safe and got: 2x granade, FAMAS rifle, 65x scrap, 27x handgun ammo, 23x rif. ammo, 8x en. cell and pickaxe. If you want good loot, you need to create at least one char with lots of LUCK.

I also got around the same with 10 luck :D, seems like luck helps with loot, but I started a new game on supreme jerk loot seemed to drop, or just RNG trolling me ha

Also, i opened it with 7 points in safecracking. I received some laser weapons & ammo.

I just chime in to say that I got FAMAS, 2x granade, 1x pipe bomb, 66 scrap, 30+ 5.56mm ammo and 8x 30-06 ammo with no more than 2 Luck in my party, 2 is from Angela/Rose. So, suggestions that LUCK impacts loot is probably not true.
