Friendly-Tek Robot after installing tread "Mobility systems loading...please try again later"
So I'm at the Prison trying to get to Danforth so I can smite him with vengeance and I got the tank tread (by cheating admittedly) and installed it in the robot and now when I click him it just says "Mobility systems loading...please try again later" and I can't proceed. I wonder if this is the game's stupid, contrived method of forcing me to go to Damonta before I can get into the prison, but I was wondering if anyone had encountered this and knew what to do about it.

Thanks.

Go to Damonta, later you will get a radio call............

I don't want to have to go to Damonta and then come back to the prison. That's the whole point of this endeavor. I want to clear the area so I don't have to come back later.

You HAVE to go to Damonta to get the radio call to go to the prison.

Cheaters never prosper.

So basically it's the game's stupid, contrived method of forcing me to go to Damonta before I can get into the prison.

Yeah, what a crappy game, not letting you cheat. How stupid and contrived.

I guess he really didn't like that too much! He (or she) doesn't have the game anymore! Has a lot of kick-ass games on the Profile though...so many good games that I'd love to have! LOL!

I have the game on GoG, but Steam forums are more active so I posted here.

Since this thread refuses to die let me explain my annoyance. There is absolutely no good reason why the player needs to go to the Canyon then the Temple then Damonta just to go back to the damn Prison to finish the Red Skorpion plotline. Absolutely nothing relevant happens on the way to Damonta that in any way, shape or form influences the Prison story. Forcing the player to leave an area they've begun to explore and haven't finished clearing to do something else is AWFUL game design and completely goes against the traditional gamer mentality of wanting to clear an area before proceeding to the next one. Frankly the quality of the game design plummets steeply at the Prison and onward IMO and this is just one example of it.

That would explain it then (why the icon didn't show up). I stand by what I said about the wondrous list of good games you have here.;)

Well thank you.

In real life, stories don't always unfold in the time frame you expect them to. People trying to accomplish goals the way they want, and have to move to other endeavors before they can come back and finish what they started.

That said, it is pretty damn annoying. I went to Damonta and GOT the Tank Tread, and I still can't get past the cannons (mobility systems loading). I intentionally didn't install the repeater because I was trying to hold off on moving onto the next part of the story until I accomplished all my other goals. I'm not mad at the game making me go to Damonta to get the tank tread, but I am mad that even after going there I get this "mobility systems loading" crap. It's contrived BS, as you say.

if your mad at one little part of the game that is making you do a task before you move on, you probably were really mad at the other half dozen parts of the game that made you do that. At least you were mad enough to dig up a 7 year old post.

Yanno, I googled something (I don't remember what now, probably "mobility systems loading") and this post was the first thing that popped up in the search results. I had an opinion about it so I commented. Occasionally other people Google similar topics and find similar results. It's not like I scoured the internet looking for every thread I could about this so I could comment on it.

Going to have to agree with cryptomancer here, the dumb bit I found is that when I installed the repeater at Damonta you get the message to drop everything and return to base, so I thought "Ruh-roh" I haven't cleared out the prison yet, scum loaded and got the tank track instead and went the whole way back to the prison (which is a pain in the ass to navigate) only to get this mobility nonsense message. The implication after installing the repeater is that you will be sent to California immediately. Dumb writing.
