Cheaters never prosper.
Since this thread refuses to die let me explain my annoyance. There is absolutely no good reason why the player needs to go to the Canyon then the Temple then Damonta just to go back to the damn Prison to finish the Red Skorpion plotline. Absolutely nothing relevant happens on the way to Damonta that in any way, shape or form influences the Prison story. Forcing the player to leave an area they've begun to explore and haven't finished clearing to do something else is AWFUL game design and completely goes against the traditional gamer mentality of wanting to clear an area before proceeding to the next one. Frankly the quality of the game design plummets steeply at the Prison and onward IMO and this is just one example of it.
In real life, stories don't always unfold in the time frame you expect them to. People trying to accomplish goals the way they want, and have to move to other endeavors before they can come back and finish what they started.
That said, it is pretty damn annoying. I went to Damonta and GOT the Tank Tread, and I still can't get past the cannons (mobility systems loading). I intentionally didn't install the repeater because I was trying to hold off on moving onto the next part of the story until I accomplished all my other goals. I'm not mad at the game making me go to Damonta to get the tank tread, but I am mad that even after going there I get this "mobility systems loading" crap. It's contrived BS, as you say.
Yanno, I googled something (I don't remember what now, probably "mobility systems loading") and this post was the first thing that popped up in the search results. I had an opinion about it so I commented. Occasionally other people Google similar topics and find similar results. It's not like I scoured the internet looking for every thread I could about this so I could comment on it.
