Prison area Crane

there's a crane, and it has a computer control at its base. There's a container blocking a map transition icon. I used my Computer Science player on that computer, and it was successful, but then nothing happened. Now I cannot use it, and using CS on it just says Invalid Target. Did something go wrong here? Where does that transition go?

Well (if i remember right) the crane is suppose to move a container and reveal a secret passage you can use to sneak passed a group of red millitia.

Can anyone tell me if I need that passageway for anything plot related?

I'm wonder if maybe I had a critical failure on computer science, but I am pretty sure I dd not, I remember success... but oh well. Would the critical failure cause the "invalid target" message when trying again?

No you don't need that passage for the plot. It just help you get a better vantage point against the next group of mobs.
