Wasteland 2

Wasteland 2

Statistiche:
Co-op
I know this has been discussed and "the community" was against it, I don't see why since you know it's 2014 and the internet has been public for almost 2 decades.
Network code, syncing issues, all things aside, is there a slight (albeit realistic) possibility for this game having co-op play sometime in the future, after release, as a mod or patch or extension somehow? Or would it have to be re-written from the ground up since it's not client/server based (I assume).
I still don't get why people would be against co-op play. I mean what's better than playing a game alone? Playing it with a friend.

well for one, its hard to do with a world map like that. it would either be pvp OR one person just sittign there pretty much not doing aynthing most of the time
both could be able to control the movement on the map. "let's go there, no let's see what's up north, there's nothing I'm telling you, I'm sure there must be something! Ok ok but if we die because we run out of water or hit some crazy hard encounter you owe me a beer"
or "hey I need to pee, you move around, I'll brb"
also "indoors" aka not on the map each player could control 2 PCs and the NPC/s follow the party leader.
also co-op, not pvp. of course later one guy could decide to go rogue and the party fights about which path to take, the one who wins either stays ranger or goes rogue.

Personally, I love coop, but not for this game. This game is way too complex and pretty much any multi-player options will *vastly* increase development time. Not worth it imho.
The game kinda reminds me a a Baldurs Gate // Icewind Dale, but the Encounters would be chaotic if you had a multi-player and people were off in diff sections getting into fights (unless there was one leader who controlled the map). Co-Op would be great for this. I second this request.
Get some programmers, start a kickstart and get what YOU WANT like the fans for this game did..

that would just be stupid...you wouldnt get anywhere. one person clicking one way and the other another way. just not reasonable at all.

negative again. its simular but the world map defeats it all. it there wasnt a world map would be possible

that's what you have chat, mumble or ts3 or similar for, to communicate. when you play co-op with a friend at least that's what we usually do, talk using some voip software. that's the whole point, you play a game with a friend and both play the same game in the same world and talk to each other :)
co-op with random strangers... yeah idk, I remember a game of baldur's gate way back where we were 3 strangers, 1 3 levels tougher than our characters fighter, the player dropped and someone replaced him and he started attacking us. we're dead, game over lol.

1. the guys here are not some fans of wasteland but many of the original crew who worked on the 1st game 26 years ago.
2. don't be ridiculous

it would pretty much just end up as one person just sitting there doing nothing for most of the time. i love co op but i would never play a co op game like that. im sure thats why the devs didnt implament it because its just not pratical
Compaign co-op isn't bad thing in the mordern game industry.
I have completed 10+ (11 times for Retribution and 6 times dow2, cr each) times in total Dawn of War 2 with my friend on the highest difficulty with several ways of characters traits build and still this is fun.

I've bought Divinity Original Sin just because it has great compaign cooperative mode. And I'm sure I'd complete it more than once.

Today we have lack of good strong narrative games with pretty strong cooperative mode, it's pretty sad because all of us have friends, all of us have pretty stable internet connection but we don't have cooperative games with high chance of recomplete it again.

I'm sure I'll complete w2 more than one time but with friend I'd complete it much more times for certain ;3

but the game isnt set up for co op. games with a world map (like fallout 1 and 2) arnt good for co op. like i said before, one person would just be sitting there while the other controls the main party on the world map. and what about dialog? would it be the same way? one pesron just sitting there during it all while the other person does it?

not ALL games are good for co op. a game like wastland 2 is good for solo like the fallout games.
Yeah Tarvitz, there's definitely a lack of co-op games

I know you can't change a naysayer and you will continue repeating yourself but I disagree.
This game would especially profit from co-op gameplay because there are some decisions you could argue about and also different paths to a goal. Likewise a book isn't just the cover but the content and in this case the content gives stuff to talk about. Games are just proxies for communication. The 80s are long gone and even in the 80s we would sit with our friends and play various games. That's the whole point of playing games, socializing. I know that's hard to comprehend if you were born in the mid 90s.

so you really wouldnt mind sitting WATCHING someone pretty much do eveyrthing except fighting? and spend 20 min arguing about something? no. this is one of the FEW games that should NOT be co op. if it WAS it wouldnt be the same game that it is now. most games now a days are co op games. well most games now days suck balls in gernarl. want a good co op game? baulders gate. icewind dale. Dungeon siege. Sacred. but not wastland 2.

i myself LOVE co op games. only a few games i can play alone now. (wastland 2, and fallout games being the only games that i can play alone)

but this is one type of game thats just not set up for co op.

my point is, if they add co op it wont be the same game. so much would have to be changed
