All the same, thanks for interacting with us and the Steam forums on behalf of Wasteland. We're continuing to keep watch on all the incoming thoughts, feedback, and suggestions that come our way.
As with every game I play I always go for the easiest difficulty. I am not looking for a challenge, I am looking to be entertained.
I’m afraid that even when I put wasteland 2 down to it’s easiest difficulty, it’s still far too hard. Each combat encounter takes a lifetime to get through, and on top of that there is combat constantly.
Hence the reason for my post. Believe me, I would not have posted anything had the lowest difficulty been playable. Unfortunately for me, I’m unable to get past the first few fights without getting frustrated and impatient with the whole process.
I understand the community for these games is a competitive one. It seems like most people who play this genre in general are looking for a challenge. However I don’t believe this should preclude a story mode difficulty. I don’t play on hard and complain the game is too hard. Just like these jokers should not complain the game is too easy when they are playing on easy.
I understand for most people this request seems counterintuitive. Yet, I beg you to not completely dismiss this idea. A move like this can only broaden your Fanbase and make the game more accessible to those who are interested in a story but not necessarily turn-based grid-combat.
If you look on Steam there is a very devout Fanbase for story driven games. Your game has many of these rich story characteristics. It seems a shame to Exclude yourselves from an audience when you have already done all the work said audience would appreciate.
What I’m saying is if you sold caramel apples with nuts, but some people wanted caramel apples without nuts, why would you deny them!? You already have the product right there. You already have everything you need. Just don’t put on the nuts!
This is obviously an oversimplification when compared to the video game production process. I understand there are bugs testing and a number of other things. Believe me I understand it’s not as easy as simply not adding nuts. Yet the concept remains the same.
You guys already have all the ingredients to make some great caramel apples. Don’t limit your product’s potential!
