Frame ability changing without input?

Has anyone else found that sometimes the frame abilities will change without input? I've had a number of instances where the ability becomes the piercing one, and I activate it without knowing it had changed from the parry, doing me significant damage and throwing me off... It's a real annoyance :(

You're probably dodging with the trigger down and not realizing it. That's what I was doing. I solved it by swapping the frame abilities of parry and pierce so that the B button on the controller is parry and not pierce.
