is this more Souls or Action RPG? How it Compares to others?
Hi,
is this a souls clone or just old action RPG?
If its souls clone, how it compares to lies of P, Dark Souls 1, 2,3?

Is it linear or open world slop?
Cheers

Its a pretty by the numbers souls game. It takes inspiration directly from souls games as oppose to something like nioh. The main difference between this and most other souls/soulslikes is there is no stamina meter in the game. The big mechanic is a a bar called the Sync Meter that functions like a morale meter in some other games like Wo Long or the new Dynasty Warriors game. Its your resource for casting spells and using core skill and weapon abilities as well as the providing a damage bonus for attacking or casting in certian tiers of the bar.

The world design takes inspiration from ds1 and lords of the fallen 2023 where they aren't open zones but handcrafted mostly interconnected linear levels with secret paths interspersed throughout. The world is not entirely connected with some zone being connected by loading screens through a train ride or rift. The secret paths range from important items, secret bosses, and even entire zones. Exploration would be the highlight of the game in my opinion.

Combat is fine if not kind of basic. I do wish you weren't limited to one active spell slot. Though you can pause and switch spells at anytime. You are encouraged to experiment with with weapon and spells as once you fine the respec item you free and infinite respecs.

The the game is overall enjoyable. If you play a ton of souls games it will probably be on the easy side of the genre.
100% Souls clone. Lineal but with a few side-areas.

It is a Souls game, but an easier one.

Gameplay wise i find it the best one, everything feels so clean and smooth.

On my personal list it is my favorite now (finished it today). If you want a real challenge it might be to easy. But overall fun it beat even the Dark Souls trilogy and Elden Ring for me.

It also has a lot of optional areas you can find and has a lot of shortcuts you can unlock.

souls clone, more or less linear with some missable areas

each individual level is very well made in terms of exploration and while the map is not fully interconnected like ds1, the world itself does feel interconnected, and some areas are connected to one another physically, which is a nice surprise

haven't played lies of P, not as good as ds1 (best game of all time), better than ds2 (worst game of all time)

objectively it's probably not as good as ds3, but i've had more fun with it and replayed it more times

also the NPC quests are very lenient and NPCs are almost always located on the main path of the approppriate stage. Some exceptions exist but if you're thorough you will probably not miss them, and even if you do miss the one really well-hidden secret area, the appropriate quest can still be completed before fighting the penultimate boss

and, as a nice change of pace from FROM's current style of writing, the NPC lines are all straightforward with no vague or pretentious ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Linear, but with many hidden secrets, so you want to explore every corner.
Also there is unique stuff that I didn't see before.
So it is good addition to collection.
I'd say lots of similarities with Dark Souls 1. Visually it looks like Code Vein, but the maps there feel much more linear and disjointed. Here I like how a big portion of the world feels interconnected (like the Souls games and Sekiro).
