Attention! Please read carefully to protect your save data!
We have officially launched the Steam Cloud Save feature. To avoid potential issues with your save files, please take note of the following:

Manually back up your save files regularly.
Save file location:
C:\Users\(Your Username)\AppData\LocalLow\SenseGames\AILIMIT
If you can’t find the folder, go to the top menu in File Explorer, select View, and enable Show Hidden Files.

Do not force close Steam or use Task Manager to terminate it while Steam Cloud is syncing. Avoid force-quitting the game or shutting down your PC abruptly.

The first upload to the cloud may take some time depending on your network speed. Please be patient.

If your internet connection is unstable or Steam doesn’t have enough time to sync your save, discrepancies may occur between your local and cloud save. If prompted with a sync conflict, carefully review the differences and choose wisely to prevent data loss.

If you prefer not to use this feature, you can disable it by right-clicking the game in your Steam library, selecting Properties, and turning off Cloud Saves in the settings.

As I've stated in another post I made. The cloud seems to have erased my progress with a blank save file because the cloud synchronised. Is it lost foerever?
well all of my progress was deleted and its gone. dang thats crazy.

I don't have cloud save feature turned on and yet I just lost about three hours of progress. For some reason my save got reset to before I fought Wanderer.
I just installed AI Limit on my laptop. It's starting in Chinese and it overwrite my cloud save with a brand new game. I'm verifying files. I can't figure out why it's starting in Chinese instead of English.

We're sorry for the inconvenience. We'll update the initial page to automatically detect your system's language.

I was able to copy the save from my desktop so I didn’t lose progress, then i memorized the steps to change the language to English and did that on my laptop. So everything is ok now. But yes it was really strange that after a dozen hours of playing on my desktop and handheld when I installed it in my laptop it defaulted to Chinese and started a new game and overwrote my cloud save. I’m very lucky i was able to copy my local save on the desktop before the cloud save overwrote it with a fresh brand new game.

yeah
Devs should make more backup saves and ability "manual save" and save to other slots. I alt+F4 game and re-run it. I have lost all my save data (near end of the game). Game did not load my save (inf. load screen). I have started a new game... Played for while, did quit. And progress somehow have been lost. Game loaded only near start saves... It is strange, There is only one backup file.

So many players (myself included) complaining about missing save files, lost progress, etc... Obviously this is a global issue. The devs should at least include a manual save, because auto-save fails without warning. Why should I play a game that can't save my progress? It's no use... just nonsense. I lost my progress all through the slums... twice. I'm tired.
I'm quiting until it's solved... if not, I just give it a bad review: game don't save your progress. Don't lose your time or money, if you value it.

I tried again. Before closing the game, I check the save status, then I just load the save and everything is fine.
My guess is: the cloud update is broken. Instead of loading the latest save, it's downloading an old save file and overwriting my local data. Just great...
I'm trying again. I disabled automatic syncing with Steam Cloud, so we'll see what happens.
It's a shame about all these annoying issues. Because it's a great game.

Thank you for the heads up, glad to have it working seamlessly between my Steam Deck and PC now. When I first launched the game on my Steam Deck, which was after the steam cloud update, the game launched in Mandarin for some reason, even though I previously had it set to English on my PC, and English is the default language of my Steam Deck. Luckily I was able to use Google Translate to navigate into settings and change the language to English, but I thought I'd point it out as it seems to be a bug.

Also, just a quick tip I want to impart to you for future reference after reading this post. When giving someone a path to something in the user directory, you can use %username% as a wild card in place of the profile's username in file explorer. So, for example you can use "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\SenseGames\AILIMIT" and this path will take you directly to the correct location no matter the username.

I'm really enjoying the game so far, keep up the good work!

Ok, that didn't work either. But I did manually backup my save files. So the only workaround that worked was to do this.
1- When you close the game, copy/paste the 'Archive' folder into C:\Users\(Your username)\AppData\LocalLow\SenseGames\AILIMIT
Do this before you open the game again.
2- When you go back to playing AI-Limit, delete all the original files in the Archive folder and copy/paste only the 'ai-limit_sav-data.sav' file from your backup. Start the game through Steam as normal.
3- Enjoy the game from your last save point.
For some reason the game loads one of the other three backup files it created.
Perhaps just deleting these files and leaving only the main save file will solve the problem. Either way, you need to manually manipulate these files every time you exit the game and before starting it again or your progress will never be saved properly.
This is just a workaround. The devs need to fix this. At least it's playable now.
And make the backup as I instructed earlier, just to be safe.

EDIT:
Deleting all files in the 'Archive' folder except 'ai-limit_sav-data.sav' is enough to keep your last save point safe.
