Hunter of Bladers, optional or mandatory?

I am kinda stuck and have no idea where to go. A lot of doors that are "Open from the other side" but no way to get to the other side. I already got beaten up by Hunter of Bladers and went through "prison". Do I have to defeat her to progress or there is a different way and I can return here later when I'm a little stronger?

Sewer Town North Hunting Ground (You fight Hunter of Bladers here). Been in Sedimentation Tank, Shirley's Room, Cleansing Stairs (Boss defeated), Twilight Hill (Boss Defeated, no idea how to enter Greenhouse), Sunken City Underground - Mural Terrace. It feels like there are a lot of roads but all of them locked.

Well, defeating her worked for progression. Still no idea how to unlock some places but I'll explore myself.

to my knowledge only the first blader you have to fight all the others are optional.

If you'll get defeated by Hunter of Bladers you will get thrown into a location on a far west, at the end of it, there is a Branch called "Shirley's Room" (Which is related to the little girl quest)

Yeah just go back and beat that chick, I found she's real easy to beat using the shield, just watch out for her stabby stab attack during the 2nd stage.

Ok, I have a very important question - are you supposed to get defeated by the Hunter of Bladers the first time? What happens if you win? - I was just messing around the first time and getting a feel for the fight and then got locked up xD
