Where to go after Hunter Squad boss?

I beat the boss in the Withered Forest and I have no idea where to go after this. Seeing as there is no walkthroughs or guides yet I don't know what to resort to. I've been wandering around for like 2 hours after the boss and I don't know where I'm supposed to go.

tp to high street and work your way from there, or the survivor stronghold, whichever one you unlocked. the road splits in this area and one goes into the forest the other goes into the church

Yeah I had the same problem, Fresh is correct. You need to go way back and take the escalator down.

Talk about strange game design, I can kinda see why the reviews are all over the place if you get stuck at that point it's very frustrating, no one wants to talk around poison swamp.

Thanks, I needed this too! But in the forest there's the platforms up in the trees near the arboretum, a bit left of where the 2 fire armed Necros are. How the hell do you get up there? I've looked everywhere and can't figure out how to and I can't find anything online either I've spent several hours, am I just blind?
