BUG: Starts a new game when pressing continue
So i was playing this, and when i pressed continue (i was at that mountain with the orange), it started a new game.

It's not a big problem, just using 20 minutes to get back to there, but i'd prefer not to start over and over again every time i quit the game.

However, i think the reason is that on the main menu screen, you can accidentally press new game instead of continue because that system Foddy implemented or something, not sure.

Anyways, if i got a conclusion or a reason of why this is happening, i would be glad.
Thanks.

Edit; So i basically had the mouse on "continue", the continue selection was lit up and clearly reacted to the mouse.

However, when i pressed continue, i got sent back to the start of the game.

Foddy, is this intentional to piss us off even more, or is this truly a bug in the game?
Either way, good luck and good job, mate.

Sometimes if you quit the game by alt f4 or similar the game will quit mid save and corrupt your current save. When you continue your game it will fail to load and start a new game.

The only way to avoid it as far as i know is to either pause then alt f4/close window or quit the game properly by going through the menus.
Thanks, but i always quit properly by pressing the ESC key>exit and then exit game on the main menu.

Someone suggested that to verify cache, so i did that. However, still nothing as the test showed negative for any lost files.

Edit: I have also tried to exit the game to the main menu and press continue, which results in the normal stuff where i load up where i was, so i'm fairly certain that there's a problem if you exit the game to desktop and when you boot the game up.

Jamais Vu - does it ever save properly? And does it keep your settings? If not it likely means the game isn't able to write to disk - try running steam as an Administrator.

I've been trying to reproduce this bug on my computers but so far I can't. I think it has to be an issue where the game isn't allowed to write to people's disk or registry.
I have not checked if it has saved properly, nor if it keeps my settings. I'll try running the game as admin and i'll report back.

Edit: Thanks, it worked. Nice job with the game too, and have a great day.
