The pot man doesn't cooperate!
Hi! Posting to see if anyone else has had this problem and knows a solution.
The pot man doesn't cooperate. If I need to extend his hammer all the way, he pauses about halfway with his arms bent BEFORE extending all the way. I'm talking when my little mouse-indicator circle is all the way to the top of my screen, or jsut to the edge of his reach, or anything, if I quickly move his hammer he pauses for a split second before extending all the way.
For most of the game so far, it's fine. I've figured out how to climb the mountian otherwise. In fact, although frustrating I thought it was how the game is played. I've got all the way to orange hell.
Orange hell, one must ground-shove, then immediately swing the hammer around to grab the ledge. The only problem is that if I try to ground shove and then bring the hammer up, he pauses hallfway before getting his hammer up, and I CANNOT grab the ledge. By the time he extends his hammer, I've fallen too far (and usually further than the orange table).
I tried and tried and tried. I failed 15 times before looking it up, thinking I was missing a technique. Nope. I'm doing it right. Except, according to all of the youtube videos I can find, pot man extends his hammer to the full reach immediately. My guy does NOT do this.

I cannot get past orange hell.

Has anyone experienced this issue and solved it?

I've tried Trackpad Tuning, sensitivity all the way up and down (with and without TpT), and various levels inbetween (think 25%, 50%, and 75%). I can't seem to find any other settings that may be affecting this and nothing solves the problem that I can find.

Any help? Please!

There is a bit of latency involved, but i dont think it should pause mid motion. I suspect this is a bug or some hardware issue.

I don't know how it could possibly be hardware when the game registers my mouse correctly to put the little indicator circle in the correct position.
My first thought after looking up youtube and seeing this was a problem and not designed was a lag issue. I had all graphics to highest settings, so even though my PC should easily be able to run this game at max, I tried turning them all down to their lowest settings. No improvement.

Perhaps a driver issue, or some kind of incompatible software, but I'm not running anything custom or unique with this game, so I don't know what it could be. My current built is all common stuff so I was hoping that someone else would have seen this and know the problem.

I'm stumped. And the little table at the Orange Hell is the top of the mountain for me (at least for now).

For me, it's as if the way controlling the hammer seems to change as you get to the part after the grill, the part with the stairs and the camera.

I cannot get past this part for the life of me. Every time, I get stuck on the stairs and fall back to the grill. I try to pull myself up but the hammer goes the opposite direction of where I want it to and occasionally teleports all over the place, making it nigh impossible.

His hammer is on a two part rig - it has a rotation and extension component. That introduces some nonlinear movement. It should be something you can overcome with practice, though.

The part with the stairs and camera was a real doozie for me, but eventually I found a method and it worked. But that was the part that gave me the most trouble in the entire game (prior to Orange Hell).

I know about the rotation thing, as that's how the speedrun I watched does it. For most of the run he keeps it extended fully and just swings it in precisely timed circles. Perhaps I wasn't clear, but even when trying to rotate, there's still the lag. He'll do half the rotation, pause for a split second, and do the other half. I did some further testing and if he's sitting still on the ground, no lag either way, but if I'm moving through the air, there's the lag. Currently my guess is some kind of incompatibility or software bug on my end (possibly in my mouse driver, as that's somethign I saw you mention somewhere after posting this thread, and I have a cheap made-in-China "gaming mouse"), but IDK for sure. Either way I'm stopping on the top of OH for now and will come back after I do an upgrade (eventually, whenever that will be) and try again. Thanks for the reply, though!
