Honestly, not that Rage-Inducing
I picked up this game today because I thoroughly enjoyed watching Mark play through it, and I like a good rage game. I'm not good at any of them by any means, but it's fun to see just how far I, personally, can get.

However, my experiences with this game were a lot different. Instead of being mad enough to flip chairs, the game is actually therapeutic to me. I end up lost in my own mind as I brainlessly try to make whatever little progress I can.

I'll get the occasional jolt of adrenaline here and there if I'm making it particularly far, but I'm no good at the game, and it doesn't make me mad one bit. Foddy did a wonderful job on this game, but I'm not emotionally hurt by it at all.

Maybe it's just because I'm not past Devil's Chimney yet, i dunno. Anyone else feel this way?

well if ur not past the devils chimney yet u havent even started the game. that's the first actual obstacle
I didn't think it was that rage-inducing either. If you mess up it's your own fault. You just gotta keep on trying without losing determination. I beat it in about 3 hours.

the game isn't supposed to make you bad if you dont' focus on getting to the top. If you focus on just getting to the top, you'll be mad everytime you fall, because you become more and more impatient and you'll repeat the same parts again and again (btw Devil's chimney is honestly the easiest ♥♥♥♥. You just pogo yourself and catch the lamp, but you have to not do it quick. Like, your hammer will start rotating when you try to catch the lamp which might make you fall down so you'll need to wait a few fractions of a second before trying to go for the lamp)

Exactly how I feel. I just kind of lock my determination into the brainless part of playing while I zone out.

Thank you for the tips!
I don't focus on the top because I've already accepted I need to git gud.

yeah i ave beat it 13 times and I have never really been mad at it.
for me I just had the mind set of trying to to fall wont get me to the top, only climbing will. by that logic falling was not failure.
keep in mind you really are no where yet. the game starts after the vertical climb following devils chimey.
it took me and hour to get past devils chimney... it took me 6 to get past orange hell.
also, the game never gets easier.
for a while after orange hell there isnt much risk of falling, but by the time you get to the bucket every swing from then till the end screen could put you back by the lake side where you spawn.

I strongly recomend beating the game multipul times. going for 50 is a lot but going for 10 is fun
I still beat the game daily

the first climb is your conquest, the rest are your journey

Currently going for 50 because with that, I'll feel satisfied.

On a side note, I like how with each consecutive win, the cauldron slowly turns golden, pretty neat.

Update on the Chimney: I managed to make it to the top, but I flung myself back to the start. Now I know it's possible, though! Thank you to those who gave me tips!

you're welcome. I've been on that ♥♥♥♥ too, but once you understand how the thing works, it should be piece of cake to actually do it (btw you're not the first one who flung themselves back to start from there lmao markplier, Monto austin and matpat from The Game Theorists and so on)

Oh, I've thrown myself back to the start hundreds of times, lol. As I said, I'm not good at the game, I use it as an escape.

I actually completely agree, this game doesn't make me mad at all, except when I'm trying to beat a previous record, but that is for a different reason.

This video pretty much perfectly captures my feelings.

even until my first win which took me 22 h i didn't really raged.
But some days were stressfull for sure :D

Well the genius of this game is that you have to be calm to be able to beat it. It's specifically designed to punish frenetic behavior. If you panic and start flailing the hammer around, you'll likely to push yourself away from the obstacle, which usually means falling down and losing progress. Once you learn to be patient and not get angry every time you screw up, you'll beat it.

That one part with the "pushing you more away" is so true.
Most times when you fall not so much bad will happen if you just do nothing.
Trying to "rescue" yourself mostly only making it worse :D
