Terrible stutter and performance in game
I have a high end pc with a ryzen 1700 and gtx 1080ti but i can't seem to run this game. Every time i swing the hammer the game just stutters, heres a video demonstrating the problem:

Do you see the same problem in windowed mode? I’ve heard from a few folks who saw some effects like that. Try updating your GFX driver and disabling g-sync or - worst case scenario - run it in windowed or Dx9 modes (check the technical FAQ thread for instructions)

I have the newest driver installed and i don't have g-sync enabled. I've also had v-sync forced off in the nvidia control panel and running in windowed mode did not fix the problem. Running in dx9 mode has reduced the amount of stutters but they still exist. Its more playable now but the stutters still occur.

Well, just make sure you’re not CPU bound - close Chrome, for example. This game runs the CPU pretty hard relative to other games. But of course it’s always possible there’s a driver incompatibility that’s slowing it down. If you can’t get it running to your satisfaction then I won’t blame you if you want to refund. Bugs like this, which I can’t reproduce on my hardware and which don’t involve a crash are very hard to diagnose and fix.

This is the exact issue that turning on trackpad tuning fixed for me (see the other thread where I was complaining about being unable to position the hammer). I think it might be a bug with the mouse acceleration, or some issue caused by the dpi of your mouse trying to stack with the sensitivity of the game. Maybe some issue with Windows' mouse acceleration combined with that in the game? I don't know, but again, turning on trackpad tuning fixed it for me.

Turns out updating my mouse's driver (Logitech Gaming Framework) fixed the stuttering issue. Never expected the problem to be driver incompatibility.

Oh interesting. Thanks, I’ll add that to the technical FAQ. Also I wonder if this is an issue with RawInput... maybe I could add a toggle to use another input api.

I'm also having this problem, albeit to a lesser extent than the OP
I'm running it on bad graphics with an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 3.60 GHz. Looking at the task manager it seems I never get above maybe ~25% cpu load while playing.
I've tried both full screen and windowed, and turned off G-Sync. While that helped somewhat it hasn't totally remediated the issue.
I can't find any updates for my mouse driver - a Razer Viper 8khz, though I am running it at high DPI.
I'd love to hear if anyone else has found solutions for this.

I have fixed my problem (I believe)!
The issue for me was that my mouse was polling at too high of a rate. It was polling at 8k - which it seems games are bad at handling. I reduced it to 2k (though I have been told anything above 1k doesn't usually show a performance increase) and the problem went away.

Leaving this here so that any future posters (and bennett) can benefit from this info.

p.s. I noticed this issue when trying to play valorant, and the stutter/jumping was 10x as bad as in Getting Over It, so for future users it may be useful to check if other movement intensive games present similar issues.
